Autograph Are Back

Autograph will release "I Lost My Mind In America” next week. To drum up excitement, the band just released a teaser of the song. Sounds pretty good to me!

. . . but will anyone ask for one? Rim-shot.

Eh, not sure about this one. Sounds good enough, if a bit flat. Problem is, it doesn't sound like Plunkett-era Autograph.

In concert, they seem to add a dose of harder rock to those classic songs. And Daniels has the vocal stones to pull it off. But this suggests that they are not really capable of expanding past bringing something new to something older and more recognizable. Sure, it is a limited sample (very limited). But Plunkett was a jingle-master who made cheese sound as good for you as vegetables. "Send Her to Me"? Please do. "Sign in Please"? You bet I will! "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Isn't Me"? Perish the thought. After all, she and her friends are "Blondes in Black Cars." You get my point.

In this case, a name (and a couple of the original guys) does not a band make. Well, scratch that. It does make a band. Just not Autograph.

Honestly, I was never a fan but...sounds much better than the new offerings from the bands Nelson and Trixter...by a long shot. I like this song. Not bad at all.

I was gonna ask. Is that goofy red haired lead singer in the band? Guess not as per HIM. Tough when a band is one thing to so many. To me they were one or two poppy songs way back. Today they seem to have none of what made me know of them in first place.

Festival band. Check

It's interesting...If I didn't already know about the band, I'd probably like the song more. It just sounds so depressing compared to their mid-80s output. I clearly remember seeing them open up for Van halen at the Meadowlands in 1984, and they were so much fun. This song sounds like it could have been written in '94, not '84.

Yeah, c'mon, Plunkett (always loved the extra "t" on the end) is a genius! I mean, "Turn Up The Radio!", hellz yeah! Let us not forget, he wrote and produced for his pet Rockerz, the awesome Sic Vikki!

Plunkett's early solo stuff ain't bad either but that bonus cut cover of "We're an American Band" is a piece dé resistancé majéur of Autograph's career, who dished up some of the classiest of cheez ever served up on the arena circuit.

Plunkett sang the theme song for that cheesy show '7th Heaven' https://youtu.be/kilo6iqi6Pg

Sorry,,without at least Keni (Plunk's been gone for ages) this is NOT Autograph. Simon Daniels, Daniel Simon,,whatever the fck he goes by, is a decent singer but he seems like a douche

Not my cuppa joe, and they sound pretty much like a completely different band.
