Aerosmith Planning New Album
My beloved Aerosmith has delayed their (possible) farewell tour in the U.S. to 2018. That's because the band is working on a new album!
Joe Perry recently did a new interview with AZ Central and he spoke of the new album:
“We postponed the American tour we were supposed to do this fall. And we’re gonna go out and tour until we’re done. And we’re gonna try and hit every place we’ve ever played and never played. There’s always new places to go. New countries. I’d like to play China and the Far East. There’s a lot of places that are off the beaten path. Is this the last tour? Well, I don’t know. I don’t think so.”
The interview continues:
Perry said that “one of the reasons we postponed [the American] tour” was to “give ourselves some time to get something done. We definitely have another record in us, if not two. But we’ll see how that goes.”

You would hope, despite all the varied interests/diversions/hobbies/distractions they have, they could finally figure out how to recapture a bit of the grit and swagger of the good old days (and, no, that isn't a reference to anything since _Done With Mirrors_).
"Let The Music Do The Talking"!
Straight up, "Rocks", please!
lets see - it was 11 years between Just Push Play and Music From Another Dimension...so we should see this new album drop in 2032
Vacation was OK, but they lost me after that.
And, Bob and Darktown, here! here! No need to infuse a bit of something different (in this case, something that isn't really different and has its place) in a bid to be "cutting edge" . . . years after the country/rock mix was played out.
Really, the only decent track (what I really mean is 'stellar') off "DWM" is the Joe Perry penned cover of "Let The Music Do The Talking", something that really did capture that raw "Rocks" era sound, as did the song, "Draw The Line", which Darktown mentioned. And, as I've mentioned previously, they really only had two great songs since, "Shut Up And Dance" and "Jaded" (and are they really that great?).
Let's hope it's not another "Aeroschlock" (haha!!, Cheap Seats") album. I've already got too many of their frisbees already.
