40 Years Of Motley Crue

Starting this weekend and all year long, Motley Crue will celebrate 40 years as a band. The anniversary celebration kicks off Sunday. Click through the link below to sign the band's anniversary card. On Sunday, the band promises more announcements and we will get an idea of what the "celebration" really entails.

We already know the band will tour this summer because The Stadium Tour was rescheduled from last year due to the pandemic. Perhaps more show announcements are coming? A new album? More hot sauce? Who knows - but watch this space!

155 days until this tour opens in Nashville TN !! You were talking about adding things to this site how about a survey :) Who thinks this happens in 155 days ?

Wow. Wonder what the Vegas odds would’ve been in ‘81 to see all four of these guys still being alive in 2021. Truly remarkable. They’re alive!!!! Alive why’er?!?!?

Sadly, the tour will not happen this year. I really hope it finally comes together in 2022.

I agree, Kixchix. It is amazing that they are still alive. Ditto people like Ozzy, Jack Russell, and the boys in GnR.

Then again, you think about all those who aren't here anymore: the Steve Clarks, Cliff Burtons, Lemmys, and Dios.

I won't predict when things are back up and running, but I will say this: if you have a bucket list band or artist you want to see, don't hesitate to see them when you can. I missed some of my legends and am still sad about it.

Then again, I got to see Dio (finally) on the Magica Tour in a small club in Santa Cruz. Great show. Added bonus: Bain was playing bass (RIP).

Posters: who did you miss seeing and who were you lucky enough to see? Not a hijack; merely a continuation of the thread.

@him Guns and Roses with Smashing Pumpkins, Faith No More with Korn, and a Pro Football game. I didn't get my money back per se , They gave me 120% I can use till DEC.32 2021.

My plan is to use it all on Ac/DC tix if they tour this year.

@Him - 2 bands that I always wished I had seen... but finally got the chance a few years ago, "sort of". One was The Who. Of course when I finally saw them it was only Roger and Pete left. Albeit , who I would consider to be the most important parts of the band, but still not really The Who. Good show, though. The other being Queen. I did get to see them but of course with Adam Lambert. Not the same as Freddie. A good show. Good performer. Just not Freddie. When I was in high school a bunch of friends went to see Queen (with Freddie) and for some reason or another I didn't go. Opportunity lost. I also was offered front row tix to Rush in about 1981 or 82 and turned them down. I just wasn't really a Rush fan back then. I did see them many years later but it wasn't the same and it definitely wasn't front row!

Crued, I have seen all of those things, save for Faith No More (who I can handle in small doses).

Eddie, would have loved to have seen either of those bands back in the day. Though I am not the biggest fan of either of them, I can't ignore their legacies. And, more and more, seeing part of a band is just a reality with which we have to contend.

I have a good friend, a bit older than me, who is a Brit. When he talks about the bands he got to see in their prime, I get so envious I am almost angry. Front row for Thin Lizzy in a small club?!?! Seriously!?!? Heck, I'd even take the version with Sykes in the band if I had the chance.

Thanks, Crued and Eddie. Always love to hear what other people are thinking. Appreciated.

40 years Crue ... wow! Will it happen this summer ... June seems a bit sporty. I'm worried it's going to end up being a state-by-state decision which will make the entire schedule difficult. But if the USA really gets the 100 Million vaccinations in Biden's first 100 days, it could happen.

For me, since I now live in Holland, the odds of seeing the show in the USA this summer is slim to none. And yes, if I could go I would, but based on the vaccination schedule here, it'll be my turn in the August/September timeframe. I'm fully expecting all international airlines to require a COVID vaccination proof in order to fly (likely countries will require this as well for international travel) so it's going to be hard logistically to work out. If the tour moves to 2022 then I'll be there.

Bands I missed ... really only one and that is Queen. Have seen them with Paul Rodgers and with Adam Lambert. Great shows, but I'll never see Queen with Freddie. I am hoping I will get to see Ozzy before it's too late, and will catch him wherever he is playing after I'm able to travel again.

Wow, Steverox, you have never seen Ozzy? Though my opinion of him is quite diminished, I suspect every metal fan needs to try to see him at least once. I am glad I got to see him on the Ozzfest tour with Sabbath . . and Ward. I hope you get your chance.

@EddieLongHair I got to see Queen back in the '80s with openers Journey and Tommy Tu-tone
(Jenny 867-5309)

I was really close to the stage and I can still see this clearly in my mind how my jaw dropped and how mesmerizing Freddy was!
