Bloody hell this is brilliant.
Saw this band live in the 80's.
Painted logo on my denim jacket and bedroom wall.
Don't know all the Purple stuff, but went to Montreux festival as a student and took a boat across the lake to Geneva. Swear I saw smoke.
And love me some rallying with 2WD Escorts ... spectated at the RAC Rally a few times, before all the 4WD stuff came along in GroupB.
So thank you Allyson for this post - we saw Saxon in Dayton a few years ago - I'm as happy as a kid in a sweet shop (see Him for xlation :-)
And finally, this is recorded in York just 25 miles away from where I grew up, and where my dad still lives. Hope to get back soon (after this pandemic).

Always thought that this song and Sabbath's "Trashed" were a perfect accompaniment for poor choices in driving! Disclaimer: don't deep and drive, or sab and swerve!

I also like that this is the song from which they took the title of their last, sad, album with this line-up. When you come back with something awesome like Perfect Strangers, best not to shine too much light on the band unraveling yet again. That said, I liked their slightly cornball attempt to sound a bit more 'current' with "Call of the Wild" and thought the video was just the right sort of cheeky.

A respectable cover of a good song from a great band by another great band. Gillan, though singing much better recently, perhaps wishes he had the pipes that good ole Biff still has!
