Farewell Joey C. Jones

Joey C. Jones, former singer of Sweet Savage, has died at age 59. Jones battled cancer and succumbed to the disease yesterday. Joey was in a lot of Glam acts over the years, including The Glory Hounds. I didn't know much of Joey's career beyond Sweet Savage. Of course, Sweet Savage never achieved the fame they should have, considering when they came on the scene.

Joey was from Ohio and our friend (and fellow Ohioan) Kenny Ozz wrote a great tribute to him on his Facebook page. They met previously, but I never saw Joey live. The Facebook post is private or I would share it here. H/T to Kenny for letting me know about Joey's death.

I can remember when CC Deville hired "Joey C. Jones and the Glory Hounds" as his (then) new band Needle Park; which also included Adam Hamilton who has been in and out of L.A. Guns over the years. This was around 1993 maybe?

I will have to check out some of Joey's music, as the CC connection is the only thing I really knew about the guy.
