Hear The Full Version Of Skid Row's New Song

Overnight, Skid Row released the full version of their new "The Gang's All Here" and you can listen to it below. The song features new singer Erik Gronwall. Skid Row plays Las Vegas tomorrow night with The Scorpions... I am looking forward to seeing clips of the new lineup live together.

Here's some video of Erik Gronwall singing live back in 2009 on Swedish Idol.

Erik auditioned for Swedish Idol with Skid Row's "18 and Life." It should be recalled that (also in 2009) Adam Lambert auditioned for American Idol with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." Now he fronts Queen. Erik fronts Skid Row. Life is amazing sometimes.

Skid Row Has (Another) New Singer

Changes today in the Skid Row camp. Singer ZP Theart is out and Erik Gronwall is in. Gronwall was previously the singer for H.E.A.T. and yes, he has a great voice.

Skid Row will release a new album called The Gang's All Here. I guess that title is supposed to be unironic. Just imagine if Sebastian Bach was back in the fold, but it is not meant to be.

Hear a little of the new Skid Row below - the entire song "The Gang's All Here" is out tomorrow. The full album of the same name is due in October.

Sunday's Best: Week 8, 2022

Skid Row will release a new album this year and a new song will probably come out next month. That news is from guitarist Snake Sabo in a recent interview. The news that we are finally getting some new Skid Row tunes made me think back to some of the best live performances by Skid Row. That's our Sunday's Best for this week.

When Skid Row played Wembley Stadium in 1991, it was near magic. A huge crowd and then-vocalist Sebastian Bach was at his prime. "I Remember You" is still just about the best power ballad from the era... at least, in my opinion.

"Youth Gone Wild" at the Moscow Peace Festival, 1989. Bach himself commented on performing at this show when Russia attacked Ukraine overnight Thursday.

"Monkey Business" at Rocklahoma 2009, featuring then-vocalist Johnny Solinger (RIP). I remember this set really well - I was down front with Kari for it and it was about 100 degrees! I liked this song in particular because of the guitar solos.

Hair Metal's Heaviest Riff?

This is actually a really damn good list. A guy who posts as The Art of Guitar on Facebook and YouTube created a list of his picks for the heaviest riffs in hair metal. He plays each song, too!

Some of the selections include Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" and Slaughter's "Take Me Away." Of course, Skid Row's "Slave To The Grind" is included. Shotgun Messiah makes an appearance and so does Dokken. Give it a play and let me know what you think.

Sunday's Best: Week 5, 2022

Yesterday's post about Eddie Vedder vs. Nikki Sixx got me thinking about all the awesome albums that came out in 1991. Yes, Pearl Jam's Ten came out in 1991 and as I said, I did enjoy it. Still, there were way more albums released in 1991 that I loved more - and still do! - to this day.

Sunday's Best this week looks at some of the awesome albums released in 1991. Did I leave off one of your favorites? There were gobs more great albums that came out in 1991. A truly great year for music.

Skid Row - Slave To The Grind.

Metallica - Metallica

Tesla - Psychotic Supper

Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears

Kix - Hotwire

Guns n' Roses - Use Your Illusion

Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge

Sebastian Bach Does CNN Interview

This was a lot of fun! Sebastian Bach appeared on CNN's New Day yesterday to talk about his COVID-19 diagnosis and to advocate for the vaccine. I like how the interview began with a classic Skid Row clip.
