Rocklahoma Predictions

rocklahomalogo.jpgThere are 234 days until Rocklahoma 2008. While ticket prices have already gone up, and the front VIP section is nearly sold-out...without a single band announcement! I just called Rock Fever, and the receptionist told me those bands will be announced the beginning of next month. My assumption is that the announcement will be much like last year: a few trickles here and there, right up until July 2008.

That's fine with me: the announcements give me something to look forward to and to write about.

At any rate, here are my official predications for Rocklahoma 2008. We'll see how many I get correct.

Whitesnake (headliner)
Iron Maiden (headliner)
Def Leppard (headliner)
Poison
Gypsy Pistoleros
Steelheart
Britny Fox
Pretty Boy Floyd (a reunited, original line-up)
Jet Boy
Vains of Jenna
Sweet FA
Firehouse
Fastway
Saigon Kick
Sebastian Bach

Some of these are givens (Steelheart, Gypsy Pistoleros), others are out of left field (Saigon Kick, Sweet FA, Iron Maiden).

Would you pay $325 for this line-up? Remember, more than 30 bands perform over the four day festival. While organizers hope to bring all new bands for 2008, I will guarantee a handful of repeats right here, right now. In my own world, I'd love to see Aerosmith and Motley Crue (with Tommy Lee on drums), but I'd say both these very expensive bands are just wishful thinking.

So, what are your Rocklahoma 2008 predictions?

Remember, you can check out the website and buy tickets at www.rockfeverfest.com

and yes i would pay that much for that line up. i'd pay it for the 3 headliners alone! and i love the other bands as well

Hair of the Dog will be there. Check out their myspace page.... ;)
I'll bet my left nut that Cinderella will be there, too. They have already announced that they will tour this year. I think WASP will make it this year, too, as well as Pretty Boy Floyd and maybe even Tuff (Stevie hasn't been 'sludging' as much so I think he's trying to be on good behavior to get an invite!). I also predict that they will try to get more female bands from the 80's: Lita Ford, Doro, or Vixen. Just some guesses...I have no idea, really.

Oops! I forgot to add Kix to my list. I would bet money on their appearance.

How about Trixter?
November 19, 2007 | Unregistered CommenterGeorge
I'm hoping for Dirty Penny (missed them this time), Kix, Tesla, Whitesnake, Judas Priest.

Doro would be cool, as would Accept or U.D.O. ( so long as we're chasing German bands ), or even Running Wild.

Manowar !!!!!!!

Tuff HAS to make an appearance. Ive heard Trixter rumors as well. Saigon Kick would rule. And Lita Ford would be great to see as well.

Isn't Lita Ford retired and living on some island raising the offspring of the Nitro singer ?

Rockstars never "retire" Christian. Im sure Lita would squeeze her ass into a leather corset if the money is right.

i would kill to see def leppard and iron maiden. most of the bands up there i would. It would be awsome if Kix were there to. not vixen. the only original member is the guitarist, Jan. not a hudge fan of any of that stuff. only if all four of them did it.

girlschool would be awsome

I'm wondering about Krokus, Joe Lynn Turner, and Zebra. 3 I'd like to see!

how about...Van Halen, GnR, Whitesnake as the 3 day headliners>>>>hmmmm very interesting. You can't probably count on Sixx AM as well. discuss...

if you go to their forum many of these names have been mentioned. some have been confirmed by the global moderator but the admin has said nothing is confirmed but all the groups mentioned had been "contacted." sorry but they did say iron maiden will not be there. the headliners (rumored) are whitesnake, def leppard and a co-headliner of scorpions/judas priest. others are kix, krokus, dirty penny, gypsy pistoleros, steelheart, tesla, cinderella and some more. i can't remember them all. i doubt wasp will be asked back after backing out last year. they also have said they want to have different headlining bands every year so i also doubt poison will be there.

just remembered jetboy as well.

There is NO WAY Iron Maiden is playing this festival. They don't want to be associated with anything related to the glam metal scene. Besides, next July they are playing a European stadium tour.

KIX ALL THE WAY!!! The better be there. They have already annouced for the first time in over 12 years they are going out on a limited national tour this spring and summer (they play annual reunion shows in the Baltimore area that sell out each year but that it) and you better believe Rocklahoma will be a stop on this tour. I just hope they give them a good enough slot so they can play at least 1 hour. There live show is over 2 hours long so it is going to be hard! I mean Yeah, Yeah, Yeah with Steve Whitemans rap (not that kind of rap) is about 10 minutes long live! KIX FOR ROCKLAHOMA 08!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

You can definitely count KIX to Rocklahoma, also a reunion of WARRANT with JANI LANE. Guaranteed! Also guaranteed, there will be NO appearance of Iron Maiden.
