Does Anyone Remember Disneyland After Dark?

Disneyland After Dark formed in Denmark in the early 1980s. The band was forced to change their name to D-A-D because of obvious trademark issues.

Next month, the band will release a new album called Monster Philosophy

I don't think D-A-D are necessarily Glam, but they are definitely melodic. They would be a great choice for one of the many Metal festivals that exist these days. I can definitely even see D-A-D playing Rocklahoma. I think having the Danish band come to America would be a great value-add. Especially since not many Americans have had the chance to see D-A-D live.

I don't own any Disneyland After Dark albums. I just checked eBay. Several are up for auction - but the price is high. D-A-D released Call of the Wild in 1989. eBay has it for $48. Too much for my blood. A few other auctions have D-A-D albums going for $10 or $20 bucks. If you've got some extra cash, now could be the time to pounce.

I don't know about the new music on Monster Philosophy, but the band has some good classic tunes. Here's the video for "Sleeping My Day Away."

Here's "Laugh'n A 1/2."

Why should I remember them, when I have never forgotten them? *lol* D.A.D. have been around forever and they totally rock. Can't await to see them live again.

I love these guys, I have several of their CDs as well as the DVD of all their clips. A bit lame that their bass player only had one string ( or was it two ? ). He was a lefty, too. But, these guys are awesome, good melodic rock with strong hooks.

Oh, D.A.D. fucking rules... No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims was an awesome album with some really good songs on it. You might remember the bass player as wearing a helmut that shout out sparks and he only used 2 strings on his bass...
Very cool band.

Good band alot of gimmicks live like the bass player wears a helmet that shoots out sparks & 2 string bass. The album with sleeping my day away is cool but they were just another flash in the pan. Certainly No KIx!!

@Fitz: Just another flash in the pan? *cough* Sorry, but no way! Have you ever seen D.A.D. live? Doesn't seem so. Also: Theyn ever split up, they are still making new music and they are touring like they always have.

As much as I love Kix, I think they really need to get their shit together and don't be such a chicken regarding new material. You can't feed from the old days forever. Or at least you shouldn't.

Yeah, I have to agree with Xandra73 on this... I mean, I "like" Kix, always have, but they wear on me after a bit... They need some new material.

Three of their CD's were reissued by Wounded Bird Records earlier this year.

No Fuel Left For the Pilgrims, Osaka After Dark, and Riskin' It All were all reissued this year.
'Sleeping My Day Away' still gets occasional airplay on certain radio stations, but I've never really investigated them further. Partly because their name is so ill-suited to search engines..

Disneyland after dark is classic if you are from Scandinavia!! Love there first album, and also the one after. Today, well I´m not sure. But it´s great that there still making music, and they are really big here in Denmark.
