Motley Crue and Def Leppard Cincinnati Show Postponed

Despite the recent Blabbermouth article below quoting Bret Michaels as saying he does not know the status of "The Stadium Tour" some folks with tickets received emails yesterday about show postponement. From my research, it looks like ticket holders for the Cincinnati and Chicago shows receive postponement alerts. Now it is possible these dates were postponed because of Major League Baseball. The baseball season is expected to start July 4th weekend. The Cincinnati show is July 2. I also think these emails went out early, in error, since all the bands said the official announcement would come June 1.

We have been over this before: no one thinks this tour will happen now. Kenny Chesney just postponed his summer stadium tour and moved the dates to 2021. I expect this is what will happen with "The Stadium Tour" too. I still would prefer to just have my money back. It is hard enough to plan when tickets go on sale six or eight months in advance. Holding tickets to a show in the summer of 2021 is a lot and will cause many problems for people. I suppose we have to financially float Ticketmaster at this point.

Sadly, it will be a minor miracle if there's a baseball season at all ...

Yup I got the same Ticketmaster email for the Cincy show. Totally expected though a cancellation would have been better for the finances.

That last line was priceless, Allyson.

But there is a bright side: finally got my notice from Ticketmaster that they were refunding costs for DLR's Vegas residency. A nice thing . . . not that I am attributing a spirit of goodwill to those thieves!

And there is a less than bright side, even with smaller vendors: Eventbrite, the ones that were handling Krokus' show in Seattle at the El Corazon, will not refund costs (no refund policy is not being changed). They state on their site that people should contact the venue. You know what? Those tickets were fairly cheap (compared to others). Smaller venues are hurting right now. They can keep my money. I hope they use it in good faith, so that they are around once the corona-dust settles.

I should add . . . RIP Ronnie James Dio.

Lords of Black‘s “Rainbow Eyes” (Rainbow cover, and one of my favorites from his era with the band) is really well done, even if I don't personally care for his singing on the recent live Rainbow album:

And I still get a bit misty-eyed when I watch Heaven & Hell do "Mob Rules" from their last tour:

Guy was amazing. Saw him on one of the lower-ebbs in his career (the Magica-era was a tough sell) at a small club in Santa Cruz (or San Carla if you bite) with Goldy, Bain, and Wright. A wonderful show. Small man. Big vocals. Cherished memories.

shocked. not.
price they pay for trying to play along side baseball. sports will dominate the use of the stadiums. and the way its talking, the mlb may not have many free days in those baseball stadiums to hold concerts.
got a quiet email the other day that the lost ‘80s live tour was pushed to 2021. they can have my $10 ticket, but the m&g money i want back for sure.

Stu, let us know when you get a loud email. Just kidding. I saw the news too. It makes sense given the state of things these days. Who was handling the ticketing for this tour?
