Rockett Mafia Covers 'I Think I Love You'

Gotta be honest, the sound of the first Rockett Mafia track isn't exactly what I was expecting, but I like it.

Rockett Mafia is Rikki Rockett's new band, also featuring Brandon Gibbs, Mick Sweda and Bryan Kimes. Covering David Cassidy (ok, The Partridge Family) is an interesting choice, but it does work here. I wish the production was louder on this one, but that is a small complaint. I certainly hope we get original music soon.

This is genius!

Interestingly it’s not on Apple Music, Spotify, etc. … Yet!

I wonder why that is, tho one could speculate (rights?).

Still, I’ve added it to my “Valentine’s Day Massacre” playlist on YouTube Music, which is really the ultimate of the music streaming services, as it allows you to listen to music usually unavailable on the other platforms plus create playlists, etc., because it lets you add videos, not just straight tracks.

For example, RATT’s cover of “Walkin’ The Dog” on their TimeCoast EP, which is still unavailable on those other streaming sites. … So, unless you want to spring for an out-of-print CD copy of it, YouTube Music is the way to go!

p.s. I should mention Stephen Pearcy did mention awhile back, he’s been working on getting the TimeCoast EP reissued, but, alas, hasn’t been able to get the ,you guessed it, rights!
