Beware of Darkness Restores Faith in Rock
![Date Date](/universal/images/transparent.png)
Yes, yes, yes. If you're looking for a real rock band, I've found them for you. The band's name is Beware of Darkness and they were formed in Los Angeles in 2010. The band isn't Glam -- just straight up rock. I think you will like them. The band is playing Rock on the Range and I'll definitely catch their set.
Check it out:
Live version. A little sloppy, the way I like it:

These guyz KICK A*S ROYALE!
I saw a fair amount of bands at The Troub and I would fathom to guess there aren't many who ROCKED that joint to this extent. It would be interesting to know Ace Steele's assessment as I believe he saw more than his fair share of amazing bands there, let alone, I believe, performing there himself with his amazing band, ACTRESS!
Since Ace is an L.A.er, I wonder if he's caught these guys live and what he thinks. Of course, I'm curious to see what others think, as well, obviously! But one thing I can tell you, IMHO, I feel like this is THE BEST Song of the Year thus far!
Thanks again, Al, for yet another phenomenal discovery! I also enjoyed the back to back set up of your post allowing to check out how Beware of Darkness compares live vs. studio.
Also, kudos to the director of this video. I can also say, shot for shot, I have not seen a more well filmed video than this in years! Van Halen, et al, take note -- Next time bother to do something clever with your videos. It really makes a difference image-wise!
ROCK ON, Beware of Darkness!
... as I have lamented before, probably more than once...
Do you have to use the word "obscure" when describing these amazing long lost bands...
Thinking of them as "rare hidden gems" is far better!
ROCK ON, Beware of Darkness!
And just look at that bass player going almost as apesh*t as Donnie Purnell of KIX. White Stripes sure as h*ll never had anything like that, hahaha!!! Personally, I think Beware of Darkness is ten times more bad*s than White Stripes, this coming from a big White Stripes fan. Wish they had a cooler name, though.
