Sonic Temple Festival Returns, Announces Lineup

Sonic Temple Festival will return to Columbus, Ohio after a three-year COVID-related hiatus. The festival was previously known as Rock on the Range. The four-day event happens May 25-28.

Sonic Temple bands were announced this morning and tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday. I was expecting to see Nickelback and Ice Nine Kills on the lineup and I am little disappointed they are not included. KISS is a headliner which did surprise me a lot. Avenged Sevenfold and Foo Fighters are also headliners. I would like to go to the event on Friday to see I Prevail, Dorothy and Avenged Sevenfold. I guess it will depend on how much single day tickets cost!

seems like a huge talent drop off after the headliners. and some headliners are questionable as well.

Stu, I think you are catching up with me. This is the future. This is our future.

Actually, no. This is their future. And, as much as I don't like it (as it was when Ozzfest and other festivals started playing music I didn't care for and started to feature bands I didn't know), that is the way things go.

Many of us, myself included, should be lucky to see some good new bands in clubs and events centers before they break big. But the ones we grew up on? Oh no. No, no, no. That day is passing. These headliners are not for us . . . and when they are, they are on the fast-track out of being headliners that anyone cares to see.

But good for the yoots. And, again, we still have a chance to see some great bands before they break. So, good for us too.
