We Can Finally Order 'The Royal Scam' Vinyl Remaster!

I cannot express how excited I am for this! UMe will release the remastered version of Steely Dan's The Royal Scam on June 6. The album has never been remastered and it is my very favorite Dan work!

I'm getting the Ultra High-Quality vinyl (UHQ) version of the remaster which is very expensive. When the remaster series was announced years ago, I knew I would be holding out for The Royal Scam high quality version. This version apparently comes with a certificate of verification or some such. I don't really care about that; I just want the extra clear sound! Also cool that it is 200 gram - flat.

'Naughty Naughty' -- (No, Not That One)

Thanks to Sirius XM I was reminded of a song I'd completely forgotten. "Naughty Naughty" by John Parr popped up on Classic Rewind this morning during my commute.

I was like, "Welp, this is sort of new to me." AS I listen, I decided there was a little scoop of Glam in the track for sure. No, it's nothing like the Danger Danger song of the same name, but it is still good. What do you think?

'The Revenge Of Alice Cooper' - Reunion Album, New Music!

Surprise live reunions over the past several years and a couple new songs here and there have pointed to this all along, but here we are: the original Alice Cooper band has reunited for an album of new material! Yes, the record even features the late guitarist Glen Buxton! Buxton died in 1997, so this means Alice Cooper dug deep into the archives to find some unused tracks of his playing to include here. A very nice touch.

There are listings for the release on Amazon, but you can't purchase yet. It is possible the Amazon details were published early and got ahead of the band. Also, the official Alice Cooper socials shared a bit of a teaser for the release. See below.

Def Leppard, Motley Crue Announce Destination Festival

Well this is new and out of the blue. Rock the Tides fest will take place November 7-9 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The event is a destination festival with everything happening at an all-inclusive resort called Barcelo Riviera Maya. I've never been to that resort, but I have been to the area of Mexico a few times. Very beautiful water.

In addition to headliners Motley and Leppard, Bret Michaels, Dorothy, Extreme and more will perform. Looking at packages online, it seems to be around $3k or $4k a person on double occupancy. Not cheap for three days in Mexico, but you're paying for the entertainment! I'm sure this will sell-out pretty quickly, assuming people still have jobs and/or savings considering the way the economy is looking these days. Pre-sale starts next week. If you are attending this, please let me know in the comments!

Turning out to be a busy year for Motley Crue, isn't it?!?

Yes, This Is Where We Are

We're at peak meme, people. Rudy Sarzo, legendary bassist for Quiet Riot and Ozzy and Whitesnake and others... is now a Ken doll. It's a popular AI meme right now. I'll admit I chuckled. And then I realized the same dude shared a tour bus with Ozzy Osbourne and must have seen some stuff... it's all very jolting, isn't it? Sometimes I miss the mystique of not knowing every detail about my music heroes.

Dirty Honey On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

I love this for them! Dirty Honey was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. They performed their song "When I'm Gone," which is featured on the new Minecraft movie soundtrack. The song is originally from the album Rollin' 7s.

I hope this means more exposure and fame for Dirty Honey. They deserve rock stardom. They will also tour with The Struts this summer, so that is cool!
