'Loyal to the Lie' -- Mick Mars, New Song

Happy Halloween! Mick Mars helps us celebrate by dropping a new song called "Loyal to the Lie." It is on the upcoming solo album The Other Side of Mars due in February.

"Loyal to the Lie" is heavy and I like it. Mick's guitar work here is great. Vocals are performed by Jacob Bunton - you will know him as the frontman from Lynam and Adler.

You have to wonder if the song title is a nod toward Mick's old Motley Crue bandmates?

Doro Records Duet With Rob Halford; Epicness Ensues

So this happened: metal goddess Doro and Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford got together to record a cover of "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Yes, the classic pop tune by Bonnie Tyler.

The cover is on Doro's new album Conqueress - Forever Strong And Proud which was just released a couple days ago. The cover is basically awesome - but of course it is. Two powerhouse voices on an incredible track. Epic.

New John 5 Music

Guitarist John 5 has shared a new song called "The Ghost." While I still can't get used to John 5 being the guitarist for Motley Crue and not Mick Mars, there's no denying the guy's massive talent. John 5 is a hell of a guitar player and great songwriter, too.

John 5 wrote "The Ghost" about his guitar and it's hauntingly amazing. Also, shout out to the dog in the video - I love how he sleeps through most of it.

Farewell Steve Riley

Steve Riley, best known as the drummer for L.A. Guns, has died. He had pneumonia and passed away yesterday at age 67. This news is shocking to me and it is such a shame that Riley never patched things up with Tracii Guns or Phil Lewis. Just really sad.

The Biggest Story In Music Right Now: New Beatles Music

This is the future of music. Thanks to artificial intelligence (A.I.), we are on the cusp of having a lot of more incomplete songs... complete

Next week, the last new Beatles song will be released. It's called "Now and Then." The song is from unreleased demos written by John Lennon. The song even features George Harrison.

Harrison, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney worked on the song together in the 90s, but did not have the ability to get a clean cut of Lennon's voice.

Thanks to A.I., Lennon's vocals were finally cleanly isolated from the piano work. This, coupled with the work in the 90s, means a new Beatles track with all four members - even two that are long deceased - is coming.

Paul McCartney told the Associated Press that "Now and Then" is the last new track to ever feature all four Beatles.

Just think of the possibilities this brings - you just know there are tons of unused clips of Eddie Van Halen playing guitar. There are probably clips and musings from Randy Rhoads on his guitar, too. What about vocals from Glenn Frey, Prince or Michael Jackson?

While I think a lot of A.I. will bring about negatives - some positives will definitely come along too. Hearing unearthed music is definitely one of those positives.
