Chickenfoot Covers Deep Purple Live

From the awesome file: Chickenfoot covers Deep Purple's "Highway Star" live. Be warned: this is one of the best live clips I've ever seen, by any band, period.

Didn't read through the usual back and forth between MB and the masses. All i know (as a 38 year guitar player) is the Joe "Fucking" Satriani just covered probablt THE BEST organ solo of ALL TIME,note for note, including all the effects,on a guitar. This soooooo kicked ass I am at a loss for words. And is there a better background vocalist in all of music than Mike Anthony????AWESOME and thanks Ally!!!!!!!

LOL..I'm sure even he would laugh at Kixchix' Will Farrell remark but that's Chad Smith from the Chili Pepper's so I don't think his Badass cred is in question!

Jan Wenner = Asshat

Exactly brutha Ace! Which explains the whole thing, the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" isn't anything more than the Rolling Stone seal of approval and what real rock band needs that? Only good thing about that place at all is the fact that they get classic bands, like THE Alice Cooper BAND, together to perform (sometimes for the only time in years). Other than that no rock band should even worry about being put in a "museum" ....Grammy or the one in Cleveland!

Yeah, strap those blinders on, Gare. Tell people not to bother reading what I wrote so that they might be able to judge the point I'm trying to make on their own so that they may form their own OPINIONS.

Why not, Gare? Just go right on ahead and discount the truth. That's it, just bury that ol' BIG head in the sand.

I said Chickensh*te's playing is technically flawless. I caught all that, Gary. Sack-a-sh*triani did perform MOST of Lord's solo. And what he did perform of it is note for note perfect. So frickin' what? Technical perfection simply doesn't foot the bill alone.

This is the best thing I've ever seen Chickensh*t do. But that ain't sayin' much cuz the rest of their stuff is sh*te!

I strongly advise to all, whenever somebody TRIES to tell you to not bother reading something, READ IT!

p.s. What Rock & Roll needs is a REAL Rock & Roll Museum.

And, Gare, in response to your assertion my comments are "back and forth with the masses" -- If that was the case, I would be "gushing" my praises for the mass appeal GENEROCK of Chickensh*te in this thread like most of the other lemmings like you who simply cannot recognize crap when you hear it because you only measure it by how accurately something is played "note for note" as opposed to how it is performed.

Do yourself a favor and watch the clip on the link I posted earlier in this stream so you can see how it's really supposed to be done, son, "mistakes" and all.

Yo MB, you go off your meds or something? Pull your head out of your ass.I said I didn't read through all of the back and forth between you and the masses.Never once did I say for anyone else not to read through them. It's called reading comprehesion bro.Try it next time before you excoriate me. Wink (P.S. No hard feelinings cause it's all rock & roll to me.....) And yeah, your link IS cool,as is BuckCherry's ass kicking version. But there still is only 1 Deep Purple version, and ITS THE BEST. (once again, in my OPINION)

Point taken, Gary. I misread what you said.

However, you missed that I referred to the Mark 2 Deep Purple version of "Highway Star" as the best "cover", even though you still had Lord and Paice in the band. So, I can see your reading comprehension s*cks, too!

And, of course, the original "Highway Star" is the best version, Bro!
