Phil Lewis Releases... Perfume

I'm not making this up! Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns just released his own... perfume. Or cologne. Whatever you call a unisex fragrance. I can't wear perfume because heavy scents are a migraine trigger for me... so I won't be buying a bottle. Will you? Here's information from the L.A. Guns website:

Gypsy - the custom fragrance created exclusively by Philip Lewis, using the finest essential oils from around the world. Holy frankincense from the East, refreshing California citrus, and Egyptian patchouli from the mouth of the river Nile are combined to form a unique and distinctive scent for men or women with gypsy in their soul.

This formula was created for my own personal use and perfected over many years to the version I wear today. For the first time, I've acquired a small set of limited edition bottles for Gypsy. A little goes a long way with these potent oils - just a small dab is enough for all day. Each 4ml (1/8 oz) black glass vial is adorned with a double-sided Gypsy by Phil Lewis guitar pick label on a silver plated chain, nestled in a black velvet gift pouch. The first 10 bottles will receive the special white fleur de lis cap.

Gypsy sells for $25 a bottle.

I might of bit until I saw the word 'patchouli'. That stuff makes you smell like a dirty hippy that hasnt taken a bath for 3 weeks. NO

I have to agree with Kenny on this one. That is the sort of stank you can't get out. Any odor that is worse than the odors it covers can't be a good thing.

I can't say that I've ever looked at Phil and thought, "Man, I sure wish I smelled like that guy."

Wow! I hope this doesn't become a trend among the metal community. Can't wait for Dave Mustaine's "Cologne Sells But Who's Buying"

Okay this wikipedia last line of the ingredients will definitely help you make a decision on whether or not to by "Gypsy" :

Toys ~In 1985 Mattel used patchouli oil in the plastic used to make the action figure Stinkor in the Masters of the Universe line of toys

Hey... well at least you get a guitar pick ? :)

Haha!! I can see (and smell) the party now... Guests wearing Gypsy while imbibing Marilyn Manson absinthe while munching on Bobby Blotzer cheddar cheese.

What's next? KISS make-up?

I didn't know Bobby Blotzer had his own cheese. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Fletch.... What are your thoughts On the Killer Dwarfs album?

Hey Brian- I wanted to be able to give KD another listen before responding, but the mother board on my computer crashed and I'm awaiting Amazon to send a new one so I can retrieve my files.

I have only listened to it a couple of cursory times and my initial thought is that it reminds me of Springhead Motorshark. I know, l know...the bbg'ers are saying, who? You know, britny'S 4TH album...I was so excited to hear it as I love thd band and that style of music, but it just didn't live up to expectations.

I will give it more listening when I can transfer it onto my ipod and listen to it in my jeep- a true setting for a real review. No snarky comments from mb are necessary.

I purchased a bottle and it smells very citrusy. I would compare it to a nice furniture polish or an expensive brand of dishwashing liquid. It might just be ME, but it is the exact scent I have been looking for. As a 40 year old married father of 2, its not that often that I get to smell like a rock star who loves oranges. Now when I go to a school event or my weekly trip to Wal-Mart, I protrude an air of confidence I didnt have before. My life has been transformed and I owe it all to my favorite vocalist of L.A. Guns! Besides Hollywood Forever is one of the best CDs to come out from an 80's metal band in a long time.

Curious about it. I will try to purchase one.
