Eddie Van Halen Goes Hip Hop

Eddie Van Halen is known for branching out beyond his band's core focus of basic rock n' roll. Well, now Eddie is going hip hop (or something), teaming up with LL Cool J. A preview of the song "We're The Greatest" was just shared by the Van Halen News Desk. I like LL Cool J, so I enjoyed the sample, but I can see how some Van Halen purists would be turned off by this. Listen to the 90 second sample and let me know your thoughts.

Not really my style but I actually thought it was pretty ok. Was probably the guitar.

It's okay I guess. There's nothing really good or bad about it...Just generic rap rock which is a genre that's been around for 20 something years...Hardly branching out or breaking ground.

I generally like LL, and I'm a huge VH fan, but this was not all that interesting.

Hahaha!!!, Ace.

Hardly Generic, Bob.

It's frickin' Eddie savin' Cool J's a*s.

It's actually pretty good, if you go for this sort of thing.

Phenomenal guitar, as one would expect, whatever ya wanna say about it.

Hey, if it gets the young thugs listening to EVH, what the hell.
