Station: New Glam From New York

Ok Glam fans, I've got a new band for you: Station, from New York City. The band just released their first EP called Wired and they sound like all the 80s acts we love! Some of you probably saw them at Rocklahoma. Check these guys out!

"Don't Take Heaven Away From Me"

"Everything"

This group has been in MD 3 times now. Saw them twice and loved them. They played the M3 Pre Party and blew the doors off. This group is unbelievably talented. The vocals are amazing, live and their lead Ax Man jams big time. EP is a great find.

Whoooooooosh!!!

Phew! Barely made it back, kidz!

The corporate boyz almost sucked me in for good, but I clawed my way out of it and just flew here in the nick of time (Yes, on a plane) to tell you about STATION.

Yeah, THEY ROCK Bigtime. I got caught 'em with Brian L at Rock-It's absolutely in-f*cking-credible "M-Pre Party" just last month, when they opened for another equally amazing Rockin' Metal Gypsies, Diemonds, and Hell's Yeah, STATION kicked Ass Royale, as Brian L eluded to. They sure as hell did blow the doors off!

And not only is the Ax-Man a killer but so is the singer who could even give Mark Slaughter a run for his money. And so is the rhythm guitarist who was barely able to contain his Angus-like stage antics and of course, it's only natural, the drummer also goes batsh*t crazy if you stick drumsticks in his hands.

And that's the point -- STATION are doing their Metal Gods' Best to Bring Back Glam! They live in NYC but sound like they're from L.A. or may have been raised by Def Leppard's in the wilds of The Jungles of Rock & Roll.

Crazier still, they are ALL in their 20's yet look like they walked right out of a Headbanger's Ball 1980's Time Machine, fuscia tiger print Spandex and all!

Totally Awesome, Dude!

p.s. Unlike Steel Panther, these guys are no joke, yet know how to deliver the "kick-ass komedy" without being "spoofy". They are for REAL and they ROCK!

p.s.s.t. ROCK-IT! Come back, man. It's all good, my Metalbro! Take it from me, someone who has trolled and been trolled in this troll or be trolled world -- Ya Gotta Keep On Postin' and f*ck 'em if they can't take a joke. Nobody's perfect. It's Time To Rock-It Again!

As I mentioned in the "Rocklahoma" thread here on BBG.. Station was a monster on the side stage at Rocklahoma. As good as their set was on the Rocklahoma stage they may have even topped it at the Rocklahoma "Pre-party" on Thursday night. While all of the other bands playing the pre-party were plugging in guitars and turning it up as loud as it would go.. Pat and Chris from STATION stripped it down and played an insane acoustic set. It takes a lot to be able to unplug in the middle of a bunch of bands that playing as loud as they can. The result was awesome..

For those of you in Maryland, I hope to have STATION back down real soon.. also might be able to bring them to Virginia in the near future.

STATION will be back in Maryland the first week in August. I hope to have them back in the area before that though.

I dig the name AND the Logo.

Subtle, for a change, hip cool and faithful to the genre.

A little more on the Trixter side of the genre than I normally like, but pretty infectious, so for $5 I bought the CD. Seem like they would be fun live, from the videos.

Their better than Trixter, Jack. Trust me, WAY BETTER!!!

p.s. BTW, Trixter frickin' s*cks, overall. tho their last album FINALLY showed us they can do ROCKIN' originals. We also saw a mini -review here by someone who said their performance at M3 this year was lackluster, however, I have to admit, when I caught them live there a couple of years before they put out the new album, though their material sucked, they were consumate professionals, delivering a tight, flawless set with excellent sound quality.
Unfortunately, they are damned to live in a shadow of their own making -- that of "Give It To Me Good", banishing them to the eternal flames of mediocrity, where, on the other hand, Station does incredible melodic yet kick ass 80's Hair Metal. I told the singer, when they played Sonoma's, that they were "purists". He laughed, knowingly. If you had to equate them to something, I would say Def Leppard but with a better singer, Jack.

I smirked. that's "all" it (ever) was. I told people for YEARS to come [about] how you read into everything that I say and do. and when i say, everyone, to the point that I purposely said and did things that gave?give you amuition, I say everyone...always. and, btw, I say Station is "idealistic"; not "purist". kinda like me
