Frankie Banali Will Cook For You as Part of Charity Auction Win

If you live in or around Los Angeles, you might be interested in a charity auction in support of Animal Advocates Alliance. You could win a dinner for you and your friends... cooked by Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali.

Here's the listing details:

His hard hitting, deep pocket, heavy rock drumming was a mainstay of the 80s LA rock scene, but Frankie Banali the person and the drummer goes much deeper than the grooves he plays with Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P. or any number of bands you may have heard him with on over 100 recordings. He's is a huge animal lover and is also "famous" for his cooking!

Frankie's father was Sicilian and his mother was from Spain. He was raised a connoisseur of food and has been cooking for as long as he can remember. He has recipes in several cookbooks and is currently working on his own cookbook of Sicilian and Spanish cooking. The winner of this package will have a home cooked meal, prepared in your home (Los Angeles area only) for up to six guests. He will also throw in some signed memorabilia and two tickets and backstage passes to a future Quiet Riot show!

Around 9 p.m. ET on Saturday night, the auction was sitting at $500. Happy bidding!

First off, Frankie Banali is NOT a guitarist. He's a drummer & a damn good one.
I've spen the better part of my life in close proximity with Quiet Riot, going back all the way to their 3rd show ever in the Randy Rhoads days... (which ironically was opening for Blackie Lawless's band at the time... "Sister".)

Secondly, Whoever wins this, is in for a treat. Frankie's skills in the kitchen are as superb as his skills behind the drum kit.

Yeah, I obviously know Frankie is the drummer of QR. No idea why I put he was a guitarist in one paragraph and then explained his drummer roots in the next! Mentally fried I suppose. - Allyson

Whoa, Ace! What date, approximately, was that 3rd Quiet Riot show opening for Sister, even if it's just the month and year or just the year. Thanks!

Easy! Day before my 16th Birthday..
It was Sunday April 3rd 1977.
Quiet Riot was 3rd on the bill, support was a band called "The Dogs" & SISTER was the headliner.
For all the outrage that W.A.S.P. was, it was dilluted compared to SISTER. They were easily the scariest band I ever saw. Very much like the original Alice Cooper Group. A total shock-horror band. Instead of the W.A.S.P. antics like throwing meat or drinking blood, Blackie lit himself on fire & ate live Bronco Bait worms. Truly a band that set themselves apart.
