RATT Performs 'City to City' Live
Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 12:01AM
RATT performed "City to City" (from the album Reach for the Sky) the other day at the Halfway Jam. I don't remember ever seeing RATT do the song live. It's possible I just don't recall it, but I'm still pretty stunned "City to City" was added to the set list. I always appreciate when the bands we love throw some more obscure tracks into the mix. I can't say that RATT sounds the best I've ever heard them here, but I appreciate the effort nonetheless.

Fortunately, and you heard it here first, though totally predictable... Hillary, our next President, will assure kooks like Blotzer and Nugent never get anywhere near The White House.
As for the rest of you characters thinkin' kooks like Blotzer and Nugent should be in The White House, Hillary, our next President, will make sure that won't happen.
p.s. Topher -- I know where you're coming from... I've sat in movie theaters with heavily black audiences and watched movies with not one black character in them and wondered how they feel. Hey, Bourbon Crow, you ought to try feeling something sometime. I would imagine that would be putting big boy pants on for a Neanderthal like you.
G.W/G.W. Sr and all those before them have blood on their hands. If you only knew what our country really does no matter who is in power would shame the average American.
I digress but I still believe nothing changes until the America people cleans congress and the senate of self serving politicians.
It takes balls to cite the Pied Piper when you so obviously tow the Fox News propaganda line. Do you fail to see the irony/hypocrisy here? Fox is the Master Pied Piper, easily leading millions of willful idiots over a cliff of stupidly.
For example, there was NEVER a live, real time video feed of the Benghazi attack. Even the most conservative newspapers have concluded this. But, I get it, if Fox News says it happened, it must be true. It's amazing to me that 23% of Americans think Benghazi is the biggest political scandal ever, yet, 39% of that group DON'T EVEN KNOW where Benghazi is located. Again...willful idiots.
Also, I come from a proud, immediate, military family and have witnessed sacrifice first-hand. I resent any implication that I am anti-American. I LOVE this country.
Bush DID, in FACT, watch innocent Americans die, thousands of them, in a war perpetrated on absolute LIES. He couldn't give two shits about these brave men and women. He and Cheney, who received MULTIPLE deferments so he would never see a day of combat, sent our troops unnecessarily into harm's way. The hard TRUTH is that the Iraq War had ZERO effect on any American's freedom. It was completely pointless and ill-conceived from day one. Every member of Congress who voted for authorization, including Hillary, made a grave mistake. However, Bush and Cheney, were ultimately the impetus for this horrible decision. Bush even JOKED about not finding any weapons of mass destruction at a fundraising event. I'm sure the loved-ones of the soldiers killed or injured in Iraq must just feel great about the leader of the free world making light of such a serious situation.
One final point, I can guarantee both of you that Rand Paul will NEVER be president. He is not enough of a war monger to drum up majority support from the Republican base. In many ways, I appreciate his Libertarian philosophies, but he is still too right-wing to win a general election, assuming he won the party's nomination, which just won't happen.
Fortunately, for the good of our great nation, it will be a long time before another Republican lives in the White House. No amount of voter suppression can prevent this inevitability.
...Must suck for you guys...
P.S. No matter what, we can all still agree that RATT does indeed ROCK. Their catalog has held up amazingly well.
Not to beat a dead horse but if BET is reverse racism than what does that make CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC, etc. Now I don't think the aforementioned networks are racist, but by your logic they must be. I'm done with this.
Anyway, hope to see Ratt soon. Last time I saw them was in Sayreville, NJ about 4 years ago with Extreme (Eddie Trunk introduced) and both bands were very good. Believe it or not Warren was a little off that night and Stephen was great!
Shawn, thanks for your service my man!! W/O people like you and your son, we wouldn't BE ABLE to argue this stuff. Thanks again brother, and rock on folks!!
The information on the 9/11 Highjackers that would have thwarted the attack that led to the worst attack in this great nation's modern history languished on Condoleeza Rice's desk BEFORE the cataclysmic event.
Bush and Cheney were lapdogs for the REAL elite, i.e. The Carlyle Group. The Carlyle group is the largest shareholder in Halliburton. Halliburton is the private contracting firm that is basically an arm of the military, doing everything from running checkpoints to serving meals.
The Iraq War was conjured up to not only make money for Bush and Cheney, but their cronies who falsely got them elected twice (Florida and Ohio, respectively) in exchange for their service. Bush and Cheney have also been longtime investors in Halliburton and, if you'll recall, Cheney was longtime Chairman of Halliburton before he picked himself to be Bush's running mate.
Every soldier who suffered their fate, in many cases, a fate worse than death, in the Iraq War, did so for Carlyle and their employee's (Bush and Cheney) war profiteering.
Perhap's more harmful than Blotzer's the subject matter of his misguided ignoramus comments, is his use of language degrading of women. Women make up a large part of RATT's diehard fan base.
Regardless of his statements -- statements he now regrets and has publically retracted -- he is STILL the drummer of RATT. Stick to your job, Bobby boy, behind the drum kit, and leave the political parsing to us. Oh, and keep selling that Wisconsin Cheddar on "That Metal Show". That's the charming and funny Blotzer we want to see more of.
Addendum: "Round And Round" still stands as THE Greatest 80's Hair Metal Song of All Time, just above Def Leppard's "Photograph".
Spot on about the whole Iraq debacle. And spot on concerning the Blotz!
I haven't seen Blotz's apology. Could you point me to the location. However, I am always skeptical of "backlash" retractions. They always seem like deathbed conversions or finding Jesus in prison to me. If he did, in fact, apologize, so much for his speak-your-mind "bravery." It must really suck to be an uncompromising conservative in 2013. The world is changing, for the BETTER, and Republicans are going the way of dinosaurs. We should all be happy for that. I, for one, am overjoyed. Hillary 2016...and 2020!
And p.s. if I were American, I would be a Democrat!
That said, the C term is a historically grounded term in the sense that it has always referred to female genitalia (and/or references to other objects/items/persons with that as the trace back point). It has been used in literature, in the military, and in various countries for hundreds of years.
Where it actually comes from (darn etymology) isn't exactly clear. But the lineage of a term with staying power rarely is clear.
I guess my larger point is this: terms don't hate and aren't necessarily awful. How terms are used determines their impact. Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, and Richard Pryor demonstrated that by showing that the most foul term can make us laugh if we reconsider it from a different perspective and/or blunt the force of those who would use terms in a way that bespeaks (gotta' love that word) their own ignorance.
But my original point is valid: saying it in the States and saying it abroad lead to different reactions, and often you find people using it in different ways. That it offends people isn't to be treated lightly. But terms and their meaning(s), like customs, vary.
Just thought I should add a coda.
