Help Ron Keel Make A New Record

You know the drill by now: this is a crowd-funded project. Ron Keel wants to make a new record under the guise of the Metal Cowboy. The album will be out January 28 as a digital download and deluxe CD. As of this writing, Ron is already about halfway to his goal so I'm confident he'll get there. Check it out.

For someone who professes to be such a big star, why does Ron Keel need to crowd-fund?

Ok. Pay to make my record. Pay to listen to my record. Pay to see me sing live.

I know times have changed. I also know livin in New York entitles me to pay for everything. For instance, a county police officer makes on average $150 K. A teacher, $120 K, that teachers superintendent $220 K. Then when they retire they get golden healthcare coverage often $80-100 K pensions. Important jobs yes. But, c'mon.

Ron's new album should be a tax! Find a local politician who is a fan and get government support.

Woke up on wrong side today? Nah, I'm good :).

But Ron, ya shoulda been a cop or a teacher!

If egos could fund projects, you would have billions!

Hey Ace. I wonder if he was "crowd funding" from the hillbilly gang when he suddenly became "Ronnie Lee Keel" and fancied himself a Country Star? Remember that Ron? When you jumped on the country bandwagon when it was hot, and went from "The Right To Rock" to "The Right To Suck"?

Gary I was thinking the same thing.....

Spot on Gary ! As for Kixchix ~ those salary amounts are atrocious, not to mention sucking the "teet" dry of the pensions. But hey, unions are the wave of the future ?

Now where's my $2500 laying around so I can have my own Keel show and kick him in the nuts...

I know Ron makes pretty good money impersonating a real country star, Kix Brooks, so WHY should should anyone else fund his vanity project? I have a laundry list of reasons why I'd like to kick Ron in the nuts. His complete lack of integrity is only the beginning.

HEY kixchix, dont lump Police Officers in with Teachers and superintendents. You cant put a price tag on someone putting on that suit everyday and risking their lives.

Off topic, but where exactly are you getting those average salaries from? Seemed high to me, so I checked a few sites, and those are not even close to average for teachers or cops in NYS (where I also live). Maybe some do make that much, but average?

On topic, I can't imagine Ron (or anyone who does this type of thing) expects anyone who is not a fan to donate, so what is the big deal?

Jack, Im a deputy sheriff in NY and I didnt even break 80,000 with O.T.. My wife is a P.O. and she didnt break 95,000. Im not complaining ,I realize lots of people dont make close to that, but lets not inflate the numbers to make a point.

Absolutely high for salaries for law enforcement. MAYBE at the command level, but not for the road cops.

KEVON, I didn't inflate anything, I said the original post w/ the high numbers didn't make sense and asked where the info came from. I realize you guys don't make nearly $100k on average, though I'm sure many of you deserve to for what you do.

Ask Kixchix about the inflated salaries, 'cause either her numbers are high, or she is.

Sorry. Not dumping on anybody. I know the job is risky.

Long Island, specifically Suffolk and Nassau counties. Your hired as an officer at $80+ K. With overtime and years your up there, well over $100 K, to start. Detective? $165 K easy. Public employees.

Also, Ron Keel is conceited. Gotta keep on topic!

I guess I am one of the few fans that still like Ron. I even liked his country stuff because it rocked a bit. Otherwise I am not a country fan. I was lucky enough to cross paths with Ron in 2008 and he was genuinely one of the nicest individuals I have ever met.

If your a fan what's the differance between this and preordering your merchandise? Especially if it means that the album otherwise may never be released.

I will be supporting Ron and wishing him the best.

Just my two cents.

Jack, sorry! I was backing up your comment with fact. It wasn't at you it was support of your statement. It did read wrong, my apologies. Kixchix, maybe with a ton of overtime, my wife has over 13 years with Suffolk and didn't hit 95. But I get it, when private sector was doing well people didn't seem to care much about the salaries of county employees. Private sector hit the shits, now the salaries are ridiculous. I tell people all the time take the test, if you can get past the physical, psychological and rigorous background check the jobs all yours! P s. Keel rocks

Kevon,

Salaries are public. I've search numerous names of officers. If your wife is 13 years suffolk, your lying.

I'm doing fine in private. Husband owns small biz and works. It's taxes. Check taxes to inflation ratio in last 40 years, if you can handle the "rigorous tests" you can do that. Being taxed for subpar services.

If your honest you'll admit it.

KIXCHIX, my wife was hired sept 19 2000, works in the 4th pct in hauppage ny. You calling me a liar prompted me to actually look up our w2, and low and behold you were correct. She made 96,455.26. Im happy you and Husband are doing well. The numbers you see are P O'S that do many many hours of o t. My wife chooses not to do ot to be at home with our kids as much as possible. I can handle the 'RIGOROUS TEST'' mentioned, We pay the same taxes as everyone else. We pay our own salaries. When I go to my local deli or restaurant I dont complain that they raise their prices or blame the SMALL business owner. Taxes go up their prices go up! As for me working as a deputy I would love to make what county makes just hasnt happened, but I dont blame them, it is called collective bargaining. 1 IN 200 GET THAT JOB ITS A HARD JOB TO GET. You can say they are overpaid because most days they are, but its the day they almost lose their lives is when They are underpaid!
