Sonic Boom, 'Tree For Shade'

Sonic Boom is a new collaboration between Jo Dog Almeida and Paul Mars Black. You might remember Paul from his L.A. Guns days. The duo recently released a video for the track "Tree For Shade" and the song really fits Paul's voice. Seems like a good tune for a lazy Sunday.

Not to mention that Jo is from one of the UK's finest Glam/Gypsy pub bands, Dogs D'Amour !

New collaboration? They put out an album in 2000!

I was gonna say, before I even read Ace's comment, just as important as Paul's involvement in L.A. Guns, is to mention Joe Dog's in Dogs D'Amour!

They keep threatening to put Dogs D'Amour on The Monster's of Rock Cruise, just wish they'd do it! What a great band!

Though all Dogs D'Amour's album's are great, check out their first one, which also possesses One of THE Coolest Album Titles in Rock History: "Dynamite in the Jet Saloon".

It must also be said how charming this video is with the little girl so carefree, having fun with these guys throughout the vid. I'm assuming it's Paul's daughter. Precious!

And the song is so nice, too.

p.s. Hey, Ace, I couldn't think of a more accurate description of a genre for which this band and a few others (i.e. Quireboys) could be categorized -- "Glam/Gypsy Pub Bands". I also joked to the Quireboys on The Monsters of Rock Cruise, how appropriate it was for them to be on board because Spike dresses like a frickin' pirate. However, in all actuality, his get up is probably closer to being that of a gypsy.

Ok I clearly didn't know the guys collaborated back in 2000 - crazy, so I'll go dig that up! New music (to me)!

As much as I adore the Dogs D'Amour's "Dynamite Jet Saloon" , I think the EP prior to that will ALWAYS be my favorite... the equally cool titled "Graveyard of Empty Bottles" . I was fortunate to play the Whiskey opening for the Dogs back in '90... Great live band! Tyla is an awesome songwriter!

I have the album they released in 2009, "Sundown Yellow Moon". I absolutely love it.

It's not glam, or metal, really stretching by even calling it rock... Let's not try to give it a label, it's just great music

Aside from the "Gypsy Glam Pub" label to tag the Dogs, Quireboys & a few others, the only other proper way to pidgeonhole them , would be to call them all:

"The Bastard Sons of the Faces" as in "Rod Stewart & the Faces".

Indeed, Ace... Particularly, Quireboys.
