Def Leppard, 'Dangerous' -- New Song

Time for another new Def Leppard song! This one is called "Dangerous" and it is off the band's upcoming self-titled album due October 30. I have to say I love this track too! The big, hooky chorus is a hoot and the song is just happy. This is the kind of song that can snap you out of a bad mood.

Come on ya'll - pre-order this album! Let's get Def Leppard on the Billboard chart in a decent spot.

Praise be to The Metal Gods! FINALLY, Def Leppard puts out a decent song! In fact, it's more than just decent... It is astoundingly excellent!

It's only been 20 years since their last good song with "When Love And Hate Collide" from 1995's "Vault" album, but I like this SO much better! WAY Better!

Though "Dangerous" is an amalgamation of some of Def Leppard's greatest riffs and hooks such as "Photograph" and "Armageddon It", they twist the stuff up enough to make it sound fresh!

Kudos to Def Leppard for finally delivering the goods, even if it did take two decades!

Now that's what I'm talking about. Is it groundbreaking? Nope. Is it derivative? Yup. Is it catchy as all hell? You bet. This sounds like it would've fit comfortably on Pyromania or Hysteria.Classic Lep. On a side note, listen to the opening riff's tone (and style). Anybody else hear the exact same tone as Just Like Tiger Woods from Steel Panther? Maybe Phil borrowed Satchels Delay and Chorous pedals for the day.....lol

Good song, but Elliott doesn't sound like he used to, unfortunately. Its more like their new crap, than their classic, old stuff, imho. Not too bad though, and definitely better than the first cheesy release.

I discovered Fates Warning on "The Best of Metal Blade", Volumes 1 & 2 with ditties like "The Apparition", "Damnation" and "Prelude To Ruin" and later, on Volume 3 with "Anarchy Divine".

Let's put it this way, I didn't fast forward through their stuff, nor did I fast forward to it. I find them to be mildly amusing but it's the many other bands I discovered on these killer compilations, my favorite of all of them being Lizzy Borden.

Reality is, the Lizzy Borden classics on these comps such as "Give 'Em The Axe", "Red Rum", "Notorious" and "Me Against The World" simply blow away anything Fates Warning ever did. Also, I find lesser known artists on the comps to be vastly superior to Fates Warning, particularly comedy acts such as Pandemonium with the humorous (and catchy as h*ll) "Look Of Death", Thrust with the absolutely hilarious "Poseurs Will Die" and Diamond Head's sterling"Am I Evil", which is head and shoulders above Metallica's cover.

Also, there are plenty of other "unintentionally funny" tracks on the collection that dwarf Fates Warning and make these compilations must haves.

As most of you may already be able to tell, I much prefer Glam Metal over what would probably be connoted Heavy Metal, but there is simply no denying how great some of the stuff on these compilations which is why I highly recommend them, even if they have Fates Warning on them, let alone crap that's much worse such as Slayer or some of the other sh*t.

How the h*ll did I put this Fates Warning Commentary on here?! No doubt my tech ineptitude is responsible. Sorry, guys, please mentally insert into Al's post on Fate's Warning.

As for Def Leppard, "Dangerous" is absolutely stunning, easily their best song in two decades!

The stuff from that era of FW is a LOT different than what came after the No Exit album (the one w Anarchy Divine on it); not as metal, more progressive rock w a metal influence. You may not like it any more but if you never listened to the music they did post 1990 your not really judging the band fairly.
