Fave Alice Cooper: Number 2

The countdown to Halloween rolls on. Today my second favorite Alice Cooper video of all time: "No More Mr. Nice Guy."

Is there any more iconic chorus? I don't think so.

Al, that was great but check out this promo clip from '73, the year it came out. You'll love the footage of him corrupting the poor innocent youth in the audience. And how 'bout those boots? What a total Killer!

And another, this one from '81, where he looks frail and TOTALLY wasted, tho still nailing it like a total pro:

I'm with you, Metalboy... I'll take the original band every time!

Cool, Ace... Hey, I know Alice is practically the last living original Hollywood Vampire. Did you ever see him pop into The Rainbow (or anywhere else, for that matter) when you were hangin' there in the 80's or any other time?

I love this man. So much talent and so many great songs. So glad I finally caught him live in August.

Trying to guess what No. 1 will be. Feed My Frankenstein perhaps?

uff, great song. I like to listen "cover" version of classics like this one...please, listen "humanary Stew" (tribute to Alice).
My number one of this artist will be "eighteen". (original version) or.... "under my wheels" with Axl Rose...
Regards from Baires!!

It's so funny, you mentioning "Feed My Frankenstein", Rita! Though I would never dare fathom what Allyson might pick for #1 as I do not want to alter the course of history, it is a killer song indeed!

Interestingly, the song was originally written and performed by Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction, appearing on their "Hoodlum Thunder" album. What's more, it was recorded by Cooper at Todd Rundgren's Bearsville Studios with such luminaries of Glam as Steve Vai and Nikki Sixx!

Since you like "Feed My Frankenstein" so much, Rita, I highly recommend Zodiac Mindwarp's album, "Tattooed Beat Messiah", which was released previous to "Hoodlum Thunder". Literally, EVERY track on "Tattooed..." is a veritable masterpiece! If there was ever the ultimate place to use the term, "All Killer, NO Filler", this would be it!

And, Rita, if it turns out you actually HAVE "Tattooed Beat Messiah" already, I will be sending an Uber 'round at a time and place of your designation for our previously discussed elopement. If you HAVEN'T, I will do so anyway, blaring the album out of all windows as the soundtrack for our escape. Come to think of it, in either case, that would happen, hahaha!!! \m/ ; ) \m/

p.s. I wonder who came up with that phrase, "All Killer...", anyway? Words to live by.

Ah, Steve... You beat me to the punch! Indeed it is a "classic cover"! I will check out "Humanary Stew"!

Oops, Steve... Sorry, did you mean, Megadeth's version of "No More Mr. Nice Guy", the greatest cover of that song ever!

Sorry to O.D. everybody out but I looked up who coined "All Killer. No Filler". Couldn't find anything out but did discover the phrase, "All Pit. No Shit.", which is attributed to Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed! Though he's stretching it when using it to describe his own music, one could certainly use that term to describe the majority of Megadeth's albums! \m/

Metalboy, Alice was on his way to alcohol recovery but the time I first went to the lair of the Hollywood Vampires... (the Rainbow) but I've known Alice thru multiple connections for many years. Shep's "assistant manager Toby Mamis is a good friend, & over the years has kept me in the loop. I auditioned for his video band for "Poison" but another friend, Kim Cheyenne from the band Saigon Saloon got that part. :( Always "missed it by THAT much".. Damn it!

Never did like Alice. My sister had a greatest hits 8 track when i was growing up. Didnt care for it. I would put on the my Boston album instead or The Stones Eagles Frampton. I know a lot of people liked him on lsd but just wasnt my thing. I will say i laughed a while back when Alice got his picture taking running a red light in Phoenix i believe his passenger was Glen Campbell.

Hey Metalboy! I didn't know that actually. And I love Feed My Frankenstein but I'm not sure that its my absolute favorite Alice track. I though that choice would dove tail nicely with Allyson's top pic because it would fall on Halloween. But I do love the song.

Great pick!!! I do like Megadeth, but their cover of this song is atrocious.

Really, DJ? I think it's killer. I'm with ya, Rita. Both you and DJ, have a lot of heart for "Feed My Frankenstein". It truly is a great one and it's refreshing to see such support for a one of his tracks that isn't necessarily viewed as classic, per se.
