Metal Grammy Award Nominees
The nominees for the 58th Grammy Awards came out yesterday. In between all the nods to Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift was the Metal category. Of the Metal noms (listed below) I sure hope Sevendust pulls this one out. The Grammy Awards are about as big a joke as the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Still, it would be nice for an underdog band like Sevendust to get a win once in awhile. Some of the nicest guys in music, those Sevendust boys.
The Grammy Awards telecast is set for February 15th.

But, again, if this sort of pageant move you, by all means: spread the good word . . . to those voting members (a secret, cult-like group, so that is a sure thing for Ghost). Seriously, though, who are they. Well, the Grammy's are a helpful lot:
"Recording Academy Voting Members are professionals with creative or technical credits on at least six commercially released tracks (or their equivalent). These may include vocalists, conductors, songwriters, composers, engineers, producers, instrumentalists, arrangers, art directors, album notes writers, narrators, and music video artists and technicians."
Oh, and there is nothing against soliciting a vote if you are an industry insider. You just aren't allowed to know whose palm to grease since the voting members are, to protect the sanctity of the process, anonymous. So that simply means PR that might target them (then again, might not).
Allyson, you were right: this is a lot like the RaRHoF. Slim difference? There is actual audience involvement (after pressure) in the voting (albeit on a minuscule level).
But, hey, at least it ain't Coldplay at the Super Bowl, right?
I think Halestorm and Hollywood Vampires should've been nominated.
