Vince Neil Chokes Up At Motley's Final Show
Monday, January 4, 2016 at 12:01AM
Motley Crue played their final show on New Year's Eve. Lots of videos of that show are online now - but the clip of Vince Neil choking up during "Same Old Situation" really got me. I'm not surprised he got emotional - I mean, wouldn't you? Apparently a lot of people in the crowd were crying while walking out of the show as well.

Ace: Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear enough but I made a point of saying "mostly" because sometimes you do have some nice things to say about the Crue & it was actually rather pleasant to read your earlier response on this topic. My annoyance was more about things you had said in the past couple of months. One thing that really took me back was how you left a post about how somebody needs to shoot Vince in the head. I thought that was completely uncalled for but I kept my mouth shut at the time. The only reason I spoke up this time was because of BKallday. I 100% understand where he is coming from.
metalboy!: I really don't know what to say to you. Your long post was like a rollercoaster ride of love & hate for Vince. I'll take your word for it that you are a fan but the way you talk about them leaves me perplexed.

Him: I really loved your response, very well put. I have no problem whatsoever w/you.
What really gets me about the comment section is...
Every time a topic comes up about the Crue, people always have to comment about how "Vince is fat" or "Vince's voice is shot".
Of course those are 2 extremely accurate comments but why keep bringing it up.
Vince has been fat & his voice has been shot since the mid to late 90's.
I highly doubt anybody here was unaware of that???
What is the point of bringing that up over & over again???
***"Bring Back Glam" is hands down my favorite & greatest website when it comes to up to date news on glam metal***
***I would like to apologize to Ace & metalboy (even fletch) if I came across as a bitch.
My bad, I'll leave you alone***
:)
@ I realized I never actually commented about the topic at hand @
I 100% believed Vince was showing his true emotions before going into "Same Ol Situation".
I 100% believe that this is it for the Crue as far as ever touring again ( I wouldn't be surprised though if the did play a one off show or two sometime in the future).
I'm very excited about the upcoming DVD of the last show as well.
I have a DVD of every Crue tour except for the Corabi Tour, so the new one will be a great addition to my vast collection.
###Sorry for wasting everybody's time###
The great thing about this site is that people are, by and large, into posting for all the right reasons. That includes you. And I think we do a pretty good job of policing each other. Not that people need to bend to another poster's critiques. But it helps establish a bit of balance.
And I agree with you Jakki: I think those tears were real. I bet they were a response to a lot of different emotions. I couldn't fathom being in his position on that stage on that night. That is a lot to take in. No one on this site doubts their legacy, even if some of us disagree on some of the particulars.
I also think this DVD and the one that Corabi is releasing of his latest tour will be a great way for fans to cover all the bases, until (I would hope) the Crue start releasing some archival stuff that is surely lying about.
Finally, Fletch's post and Jakki's reply thereto had my laughing. A W.A.S.P. song (the word substitution had me thinking about oysters), followed by a backwards Pistols reference?!!?
Like I said, Jakki, thanks. You were wasting no one's time. I hope to read more of your thoughts going forward.
I really don't think the RaRHoF confers any sort of legitimacy on the bands housed therein. I really don't, and have said as much in the recent past. Sure, some bands want it, just like some fans do. But the Crue's legacy was secured a long time ago and can't be sullied by an institution like that. Same goes for Deep Purple. They don't need a display case in Cleveland any more than they need an exhibit at The Hard Rock Cafe.
As to the people you listed, I tend to trust what they say. I recognize you are much more of a passionate fan than I am when it comes to the Crue (same could be said re: me when it comes to GnR or VH). And I never doubt your passion for them. But, again, I trust those posters as much as I trust your position.
The only thing I disagree with is this: I don't think anyone is hating. I am not trying to poke the bear. I am just saying. The one place where I think both you and I can see that in play is re: Slayer. We are good with them no matter what (well, not really . . . but you get my point). And I can't wait to see them in a few months in SF. Should be a good show. Would it be better with still and/or once living members? Perhaps. But I can't really deal in "what ifs" that I have no control over. No one asked me.
Bottom-line: the Crue are a ranked quantity with quality songs and a long-standing rep. We can quibble all we want about the specifics and the chronology. But we agree on that point (all of us). At least I think we do.
