Listen To Stephen Pearcy's New Track 'Ten Miles Wide'

Ok so this song is freaking amazing. Stephen Pearcy is releasing Smash later this month. The newest song to hit the Internet is "Ten Miles Wide." Seriously listen to the guitar work and tell me this doesn't sound like late 80s era RATT? Smash comes out January 27 (via Frontiers) and I'll be a day one buyer. I haven't been this excited for a new record in a long time. This is good stuff.

I kinda think the Rolling Stones are gonna want their "Gimme Shelter" guitar riff that Pearcy stole for this, back.

Good point, Ace! Still, he's done a nice job of Metalizing it.

Seriously, though, do you think The Stones would have a case with this?

Or, would this even be worth pursuing since the sales are so minuscule. I mean, let's face it, as cool as it is, "Bittersweet Symphony", it ain't.

p.s. I do really like this despite the thievery, however, I think "Want Too Much", also recently released ahead of the album and showcased by Allyson on BBG!, is a much stronger track. It's definitely not quite as good as late 80's RATT, as you assert, Allyson, beyond the voice parts of the solo. We probably have Wagoner to thank for that. One thing that's clearly similar -- incongruous, nonsensical lyrics... "Ten Miles Wide"? I don't get it.

Plagiarism - the sincerest form of flattery - or so I have been told. Either way the crisp attack of the guitar sound really makes the song....10 miles wide must mean something to Stephen. BUt I like it..

All of this stuff should be under the Arcade moniker. It sounds exactly like Arcade but not much like Ratt. Kinda generic.

BK! Got ALL the Arcade stuff and this sounds much better IMHO!

I loved the first Arcade but the second wasn't as strong for me.

Don't know about you, BK, but I sense if this album is any indication, there's a very good chance the new RATT album Pearce is working on with DiMartini may very well be as good as "Infestation" or maybe even better!

We can only hope!

"May very well be as good as "Infestation" .... LOL, AIM LOW !

And no, The Stones won't even bother going after such a non-profitable plagiarism target.

Just tagging it for what it is.
