Crazy Lixx, 'Hunter of the Heart' - New Video
Monday, July 31, 2017 at 07:09AM
Here's the best video and song so far of 2017! It's "Hunter of the Heart" from Crazy Lixx. The song is on the album Ruff Justice.
The song is great with big choruses and snappy riffs and the video is a hoot with it's little story line. I also want to give a shout out to the fact that there are two guys both named Jens in Crazy Lixx these days. I actually know a real life Jens (he's German), so this made me laugh.
All the best modern glam comes from Sweden.

Eat your heart out, "Steel Panther"!
These guys have been on my "Best of the Year" playlists since 2012, beginning with "Be Gone" from their superb first album, "Riot Avenue", followed by 3 outstanding tracks from their 2014 eponymous sophomore album with "Ain't No Rest In Rock N' Roll", "All Looks, No Hooks" (a title that couldn't ring truer about nearly EVERY new band out of the U.S. for the last decade) and "Call to Action".
Needless to say, if "Hunter of the Heart" is any indication, "Ruff Justice" could very well be headed for the top of my "Best Albums of 2017" list, which is really saying something as they're already in great company with so many excellent releases out this year!
Heading to Apple Music now to put "Ruff Justice" on heavy rotation. Thanks for the tip, Allyson!
. . . isn't this on par with a lot of bands in the late-80s/early-90s who were "almost" good and "almost" big time? I mean, I get it. Catchy. Funny. And, in this case, easily recognizable as a solid approximation of some of the music we loved back in the day.
But this is an approximation. A good approximation, granted. So I ask: what separates them from a band like, say, Kick Axe? One is an original. One is a clearly bunch of fans of the source code. I guess that isn't a fair question. If the music rocks you, who cares, right? But Crazy Lixx reminds me of bands I really loved, even if I do enjoy what they do. I guess that is my point.
And I am not trying to pick a fight, Metalboy! But I have to as you: why would this band in any way threaten Steel Panther? What Panther mock, they mock with craft and cheese and all the rest. Crazy Lixx, by all accounts, are in on the fun and the joke, but are doing this with a straight face.
I am not sure there is a fair way to assess who will have the better career given that they aren't really competing with each other. That said, I would sure enjoy seeing them both on the same bill.
