At Least He's Honest

Gene Simmons is a money grubber and he comes by it honestly. He's a smart businessman to be sure and he knows how to market to make a buck. So when he said he'd love to trademark the air we breathe... I shrugged and thought "KISS air - sounds like a plane to me." Maybe Gene can't capitalize on oxygen... but who knows. He just might try.

I feel like, with Gene, it is a character that became his actual personality over time.

Sure he always used to talk about the money and business side of KISS, but more as a pragmatic business person than just a greedy slob.

But more and more people kept talking about him when he'd say things that were slightly outrageous, and so he got more and more extreme over time.

I guess we don't know he he is in his personal life (of course discounting anything from his 'reality' tv show), but it seems this character he built over the years has taken over his actual personality. It is odd....

Gene know exactly what he is doing and saying. He is a businessman first and foremost. Whatever he can do or say that will keep his name or the bands name relevant in this day and age, he jumps on. The more bizarre, the better. He knows at least he will get media coverage, which is alright by him.
