What Would You Like To Discuss This Year?

As we march right on into 2021, I think it is a good time to discuss future posts. What would you like to discuss here? I am thinking about special series or weekly themed posts. Like on social media, you always get Throwback Thursday. Well, just about everything we do here is throwback. So we could do new music Monday or something similar.

I have also been toying around with the idea of a weekend free-for-all where either on a Saturday or Sunday, I post an interesting news feature I have read the week before. One of the best pieces of journalism I read in 2020 was from The Guardian called "The Man In The Iron Lung." Truly fascinating. I love longform journalism and just interesting pieces in general, so it would be fun to have a place to discuss such stories outside of Facebook. This is another reason for starting the BBG! book club - to have intelligent conversations with other readers while avoiding Facebook.

So sound off in the comments and tell me who or what you would like to read about this new year. We have 12 months ahead of us and a lot of ground to cover.

Here's a pro-shot Aerosmith concert from 2014 just because.

I think you should start a collaborative Spotify playlist by the users of BBG. Easy to do and make it public so people can add to it. Maybe like time it to add a different BBG lost favorite every week or something.

I just love playlists and probably would especially love a catered playlist by the others here from time to time to listen to.

I really like the playlist idea. Maybe allow members to provide and share theirs as well. I use Apple Music instead of Spotify, and I'd be happy to create/maintain lists there as well for anyone who wants them.

- Top ten playlists from specific bands.
- live album reviews
- classic reruns of older posts for people who were not here in the beginning
- Nothing political, world views, or virus related

I like the playlist idea as Spotify has become a great new toy in recent months. I'm frequently looking to expand my listening preferences.

How about a segment where you explore many of the lesser known “B” side tracks of our favorite bands. For example everyone knows Poison’s Talk Dirty To Me but how many know Shooting Star. I personally love a lot of the music from our bands that never got air play or music videos. Lots of great unknown or less popular tracks out there.

Given that I am odd, I think something that approaches a _Damn Interesting_ of metal would be cool. For those that don't know, look up the site. It touches on obscure stories and makes for fascinating reading.

Or perhaps a spotlight on the under-covered musicians who helped to make metal what it is today.

But, yes, playlists are nice too. Not gonna' whizz on other people's waffles if they like the syrup they are given.

The fact that you pose such a question, Allyson, again speaks to what makes this site special. Thank you.
