Sunday's Best: Week 33, 2022
Last night, as we were waiting for On Patrol: Live to start, Eric was clicking around Philo (which is kind of crappy and the only reason we have it is for Reelz for On Patrol) and he settled on classic music videos. Fine. "I've Been Thinking About You" came on and we agreed it's a good pop song. Neither one of us could remember the band, so we waited to see the artist credits at the end. Answer? Londonbeat.
The song is classic early 90s pop/rock fusion. Just a fun, upbeat track that we both remembered from our childhood days. So Eric flips over to Reelz and that's the end of the conversation. Except I am intrigued by the guitarist in the band, so I start Googling. The guitarist at the time - also featured prominently in the music video - was William Henshall.
I didn't recognize the name but more digging and I learn he left the band to become a software startup guy, creating some innovative solutions in the mid-90s (Rocket Network) that was eventually purchased by Avid and used for ProTools. He also created a startup for neuroscience productivity related to music. He is also CEO of a professional development organization too. Imagine, all this knowledge from hearing a single pop song. I love the Internet. I also can't help but wonder if Henshall will ever record music in a band again?
