Black Stone Cherry Rocks

BSC.jpgHoly crap, Black Stone Cherry really are awesome. Rob over at the Hard Rock Hideout has been a fan for months...I'm just jumping on the (Lonely) Train. You'll recall I saw the Kentucky band a few days ago when they opened for Jackyl. After that show, I bought their self-titled debut disc and it hasn't really left my CD player.

The track listing for Black Stone Cherry looks like this:

Rain Wizard
Backwoods Gold
Lonely Train
Maybe Someday
When the Weight Comes Down
Crosstown Woman
Shooting Star
Hell & High Water
Shapes of Things
Violator Girl
Tired of the Rain
Rollin' On

You might have heard "Lonely Train" on the radio. The band is on Roadrunner Records. In some ways I think this is an odd fit, but it seems to be working for the quartet. Black Stone Cherry likes to tour, and they head for Europe next weekend. I have nothing else to add except you need to buy this album. I'm ashamed I waited so long.

Here's the video for "Lonely Train."

I checked them out on myspace at one point and they're not bad. It wasn't enough for me to run out and buy it so I haven't heard the whole album.

Thank you supporting BSC! These guys are doing Kentucky proud. They are gaining new fans in the U.S. and the U.K.

Like Allyson said, The CD kicks ass!
I was the same, I only bought the CD ( after reading about it for months ) because I saw it in Frys and was in the mood to buy a CD. It's spent a lot of time in the player, since. It's that rare CD that, once I file it into the collection, makes it's way back out again despite other new stuff I have to listen to.

Truth! I saw them last year opening for Black Label Society in Covington, but I was already familiar with their music (no thanks to WEBN of course). Great band, great southern hard rock sound.

I've had this cd since it came out over a year ago and still find myself playin it nonstop. Then about 3 weeks ago BSC came to Indy and they didnt disappoint. Great energy and sound, I was really impressed on how good these guys played together. These guys are real humble bunch of kids and can they rock......if you havent gotten the cd yet...go get it.
