Only 331 Days Until Rocklahoma 2008

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM ROCK FEVER:

With nearly 100,000 fans in attendance at Rocklahoma over the pre-party and three-day concert, organizers are already planning the Second Annual Rocklahoma Eighties Festival, scheduled for July 11-13, 2008.

"The artists and the fans came out and enjoyed the party in record numbers," said Dave Giencke, Director of Operations for Catch the Fever Music Festivals. "Over 1,000 fans have already renewed their V.I.P. seats for next year's Rocklahoma, which will continue to feature the major rock artists from the music of the eighties.

"Artists worldwide took note of the response of rock fans at Rocklahoma this year. Although the line-up for the Second Annual Rocklahoma in 2008 hasn't yet been finalized --- and the possibility is hard to imagine after the success of this year's event --- fans can expect an even bigger eighties line-up next summer and an even better show," Giencke said.

Organizers say the phenomenal success of this year's Rocklahoma was noticed around the world, as fans from all 50 states and six continents were in attendance. The success of 2007's Rocklahoma guarantees that next summer's event will be even bigger!

Also, great news that following there resounding success at this year's event, the Gypsy Pistoleros have been invited back next year and given a better time slot on the main stage.

I'm glad to see that Rocklahoma has done so well. It just proves that there is still a big audience for this kind of music.
I am looking forward to seeing who is lined for it in '08!

I drove from San Antonio Texas all the way to Pryor, OK and it was the best vacation I ever took. The bands, booze, and the women were AWESOME. Will be going again in 08. I have my VIP ticket again so all you hot ladies meet at the entrance of the VIP tent and we'll party all weekend. Later, Godson

Rocklahoma 2007 kicked so much ACE that I am buying VIP tickets in 2008. I highly recommend the VIP tickets, if you can afford them. I drove nearly 4 hours to get there and was not disappointed! I chose to camp out at the venue rather than spend some cash on a room....BIG MISTAKE. The sites were muddy and very small. RV camp sites are inter-mingled with the tent sites, so the fumes from generators were quite intoxicating. The staff didn't pick up the trash during the event and by the time we left on Sunday there was a mound of trash so large that it was bigger than my 1984 Bronco II. It was frickin nasty. Also, the port-a-potties were about a half mile from some of the camp sites.

I am on board for 2008...with VIP tickets and a room already booked!

If you don't care for the Rocklahoma 2008 line-up there is an alternative: the South Texas Rock Fest.

The San Antonio-based event is three days and features some great Glam bands. It is sponsored by Miller-Lite and Harley-Davidson.

Confirmed bands for the South Texas Rock Fest are:

Bang Tango, House of Lords, Stephen Pearcy, Jackyl, Helix, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Firehouse, Y&T, Queensryche, Dokken, Skid Row, Pretty Boy Floyd, Mad Margritt and more. Evidently there are several bands still to be announced...

Did I mention the South Texas Rock Fest is the exact same weekend as Rocklahoma? Exactly - it is July 11-13. Talk about a bummer. If the festivals were different weekends, I would go to both.

Here's something else you need to know: tickets for the South Texas Rock Fest go on sale today. V.I.P. seats are just $250 bucks and include beer and food. Here's the caveat: there are only 100 V.I.P. seats - so you better act fast. Camping is free with a paid ticket.

Just look at what you get with your V.I.P. ticket:

VIP identification badge.
Event T-shirt.
Prime VIP seating on the stage.
Private VIP tent with lounging sofas.
Several VIP Receptions with food and drink.
A meal all three evenings along with hors d'oeuvres all day.
Meet & Greets with the bands when available.
Massage therapist.
VIP Games.
Men or women's VIP gift.
Private Party in the VIP lounge after the show.
Free Beer, Sodas, Water, Red Bull
If funds are tight (and they always are in my household!) you can get a three day general admission pass for just $75. That's a deal.
