Surely, you'll be playing Slayer's "Angel of Death." Beyond that though, I'm anxious to find out what you have in store.

What, as a joke ? :P

Seriously, I know everyone says how important Slayer is, but I have Reign in blood, and I just don't get it. I am major into thrash, it's not too heavy for me, it just doesn't seem to work. South of heaven is better, but still not amazing, IMO.

Allyson is playing Slayer? Cool, as long as you don't play something crappy like almost anything off of Def Leppard's Hysteria album.

Bob and Mark,

I won't be playing any Slayer (shock!) I actually had less than 24 hours to turn around the show, so I didn't pick anything too deep. You boys are both frequent visitors to Bring Back Glam! and I bet you can name at least 8 of my selections...

Allyson, I listened even though you didn't play Slayer. I only caught the last few (Ratt and on) and there were some surprises (your Skid Row choice, for instance). I can't say I was too excited about Lynam.

Christian, I'm curious, when did you first hear Reign in Blood? To me it is the definitive speed metal album, but I heard it when it came out and that stuff was very fresh compared to everything else going on in metal at the time. South of Heaven is often underrated, but I don't see it (or anything else in Slayer's catalog) as holding a candle to Reign in Blood.

Bob,

Thanks for listening.

I'm sorry you had to endure my weak, gravely voice thanks to a very nasty cold.

I don't dislike Slayer. In fact, I like a lot of heavy music. It's just not worthy of my top 10.
