Tesla Thursday

teslapyscoticsupper.jpgIt's a scientific fact that Tesla rocks.

Last night, I was in the mood for Tesla. More specifically "Little Suzi." If you don't know, the song is included on the band's debut 1986 debut Mechanical Resonance (and yes, I know "Little Suzi" is a cover).

I can't believe Tesla has been around since 1986. Moreover, I can't believe the band didn't really hit until 1989 and "Love Song." Since that time, Tesla has continued to release quality rock, albeit not completely Glam.

Tesla is currently gearing up for a winter tour that kicks off February 1 in Seattle. The band will zig-zag across the United States, hitting Ohio twice. If I'm lucky, I'll either get to see the band in Columbus or Cincinnati. This would be a special treat since I've never been to a Tesla show.

Here's the video for "Little Suzi."

What's your favorite Tesla tune?

My favourite Tesla song would definitely have to be "Song & Emotion (To Our Friend, Steve 'Steamin' Clark)".

Some writer (?) in some magazine (?) once described Tesla as a cross between Cinderella and The Black Crowes. I still don't see it, but I do think that Tesla rocks!

I won't hide the fact that Tesla is one of my favorite bands. I saw Frank Hannon on his solo tour last February, and Tesla last September.

I already have tickets for the March show in Cincinnati (Same week as Van Halen).

Tesla does not ever disappoint live, which is why I make an attempt to see them anytime they come near me.

They usually play for a solid 2 hours. If you haven't been to one of their show, please go! You are going to love it!

I saw Tesla open for Def Leppard at the Providence Civic Center on the Hysteria Tour. Opening song was 'Modern Day Cowboy' and I remember the arena being packed for them.

I've seen Tesla 4 times and they always put on an excellent show. Favorite tune - 'Little Suzi'

"Lady Luck" gets me pumped as does "Heaven's Trail" - They keep rocking with new evolving material!! Into the Now is a great release that contains the crunch which I love!!!
Saw Tesla at Lupos with my best friend (RIP) back about 5 plus years and they totally blew us away.
I first saw them open up for Poison and they were supporting "the Great Radio Controversy" and they just tore the place apart!! One of the best bands out there!!!

I saw them back in '95 opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd. They put on a really good show. My favorite song is "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)." I won't be able to see them when they come to Cincinnati since it is so close to the Van Halen show (money doesn't grow on trees). But I wouldn't mind catching them next time they come around.

I didn't like Tesla much "back in the day" but they grew on me, and now I really dig them. Favorite song would have to be "Edison's Medicine"... followed closely by "Song and Emotion" (RIP Steve Clark)... Into the Now was a SPECTACULAR CD by them... really made the band sound fresh.
