I Heard It From a Friend, Who Heard It From a Friend...(Summer 2009 Tour Gossip)

It's not even Halloween yet - and I'm already getting some juicy hot tips on some 2009 summer tour packages. No tip is more juicy that what I am about to tell you.

Sit down.

Take a deep breath.

Ready?

Good.

I've heard through the Glam grapevine that Cinderella may hit the road with RATT...and Kix. The mere mention of Kix playing a couple shows a week in places not mainly on the east coast should make any good Glam fan giddy.

Now, there's a lot of news here to dissect. First, Tom Keifer must be healing nicely if there is even possible "talk" of a Cinderella summer tour. Granted, the "tour" could be a bunch of fly-in dates to major or medium-sized markets over weekends. Second, RATT have supposedly been working on a new album for quite some time. Touring *yet again* makes sense if they have an album to support, so go ahead and look for that disc by next summer. Third, Kix touring is major news in and of itself. Dare I say my dirty boys are in bigger demand in 2008...than they were in 1988? Only time will tell.

You know what this means, right? If this package tour happens, I say you can bet on seeing at least two of the three acts at the many rock festivals popping up all over the country. There's Rocklahoma, Rock the Bayou, South Texas Rock Fest, Rock Gone Wild, Rock Fest, Moondance Jam... the list goes on.

So. What do you think? Do you believe my hot tip? You should know that I vette my tips with a lot of care. When I hear something, I track backward from the source. I ask around. I make phone calls.

Remember, I told you six months ago Poison wouldn't be touring summer of 2009. No one believed me then. Now we know this to be true. I also said there would be no 2009 Motley Cruise.  Just sayin'.

Cinderella - Ratt - Kix!! It would be awesome to see all of them at Rock Gone Wild - August 2009 in Algona.

I have seen them all on their own, but getting all three in one night or a 4-day period would be too cool. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

It would be a cool tour but I hope Keifer sounds better than 2 years ago when I saw them with Poison he's really hurt is voice over the years and Ratts very inconsistant, Kix will be great Im sure of that but I heard a rumour Kix is gonna open for Bret Michaels solo band next summer. I love Kix but theres no way their more popular than their hey day back in the late 80s early 90s . You were born just a little too late Allison.

I LOVE THE THOUGHT of Cinder going out with RATT and KIX! WOW, what a package indeed. I'm glad Poison will not be touring next year. It's just the same old set and blah blah blah each summer. They need to regroup in my opinion. I still love the idea of Lynch Mob touring with Cinderella so My vote for the ultimate summer package would be Cinderella, Kix and Lynch Mob (that's just me though), however I'm a die-hard Ratt n' Roller so bring that on as well!

That could be pretty cool... Two good bands for Kix to upstage.

Oh wow, now that would be AWESOME!!!
I hope you're right Allyson, haha...

You have no idea how awesome this would be and I thnk what Allyson is referring to is that back in 1988 KIX was just a small fish in a big pond concerning the 80's rock scene...now they are a medium fish in a very small pond! lol...People in the mid-atlantic or anyone who was lucky enough to seem them back in the day knew that...but those who didn't and have heard about their performances at ROK and RTB have caused people to take notice in the rock world what a KIX live show is all about. Can't wait for this tour to play Baltimore...should be amazing!

Maybe something like the Motley Cruise?

Kix will never be as big as they were in 88. No band from that era will ever be as big today. 88 was the best time to see all of the bands. Concerts ruled, bands were touring everywhere, arenas, clubs, you name it. Ratt, Britny Fox, and Kix was one of the best shows back in the day. I've seen Kix several times during the Heavy Metal era and they were awesome, but to see these bands today is not the same. The music is ok, but it's usually only one or two original members and the crowds are just not into it anymore. There are a few bands with original members, few. I agree with Fitz, you were born just a little too late Allison.

I saw that RATT/Britny Fox/Kix tour too, first time seeing any of those bands; good show.

When you think that BF was considered a poor mans Cinderella when they first came out (and probably still are by many), this is almost like the same package. I'd definitely go to it.

Currently, KIX is 4/5 of it's original members. And, having been fortunate to see them several times this year...ESPECIALLY Rocklahoma, I can tell you that they're as good, maybe BETTER than they were "back in the day".
The popular opinion in Oklahoma was that they should've been the headliners Saturday night.
Check their MySpace page for upcoming dates, and catch the shows...you'll see what I mean.

I agree Cleary, those boy's ROCKED me back then and still to this day they are Rockin me!!! Love them and if you enjoy KIX check out the Band FUNNY MONEY, they are very FAN friendly....

There won't be any more Motley Cruises because the 2008 was the last one with that name. But Shiprocked is run by the same people.

There's maybe.....MAYBE.......a handful of bands that, even today, KIX will not just completely upstage. Bar none. They sound and look just that good. Cleary is dead on right. Fortunately Cinderella, at full strength, is one of them. Ratt, as much as I dig them, is going to get shown up really badly by those two bands IMHO. Great lineup, though!
