We Don't Talk About Hardcore Superstar Enough Around Here...

Hardcore Superstar are one of my favorite Swedish bands. They've been around quite some time - since 1997 actually.

I graduated high school in 1998 - I can only imagine my life might have been a little different had I discovered Swedish Glam then...instead of years later. Hell, I hang my head in shame that I haven't been to Sweden yet. I imagine when I get there I'll hunt Hardcore Superstar (and the remaining members of Crashdiet) down and have a good old time. I'm serious, too. Seriously. I'll do it.

I've written about Hardcore Superstar in the past. I love the song "We Don't Celebrate Sundays" - but you already know all this. The song is featured on the band's self-titled album. Because Hardcore Superstar albums are sold as imports, they are mega expensive. As such, I don't have the 2007 release Dreamin' in a Casket. Of course, our friends around the world bring us music from this album thanks to the power of YouTube.

Maybe someday soon I'll get to see Hardcore Superstar....live and in color. For now, just watch some videos. I'm going to try and get over yet another migraine...and salvage my Saturday. Sigh.

Thats right!
We dont talk about hardcore superstar enough round here, they're one of my favourite bands full stop. I discovered them a year or two ago, and have their self titled album, and i've listened to their new stuff on youtube (dreamin in a casket), and I have to say I dont like it that much... Honey tongue is a great song, and so is liberation as well. We dont celebrate sundays is definitely their best, and even people who dont listen to any form of rock like that song.

P.S. When i get a migraine, I take some painkillers, shut all the curtains, close the door, lie down in bed and listen to music quietly. I always hate it when i get them on te weekends, its like why couldnt i have had this yesterday and not gone to school!? Arg.

When going to Sweden, don't forget to visit Malmö - their Los Angeles IMO. (Stockholm is NY). Malmö is the headquarters for my favourite Swedish band - The Ark! The Ark's singer-songwriter-pianist Ola Salo is performing in the Swedish version of the international hit musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Of course, he's got the leading role. Four more days, and it's been year since I saw the band live. Gosh I miss them.

And though Swedish glam is well-represented and honoured here, I'd like to recommend bands like The Ark, Moto Boy, Lamont and especially H.E.A.T if you haven't heard of them. As a glam fan I can assure you they're worth of a listen.

you have no idea how excited I am that you mentioned swedish glam. Totally makes my day. I'm with you, I love Hardcore Superstar, and We Don't Celebrate Sundays is among my favorite songs, too. I wish they'd get more popularity over here.

I actually applied to go to Sweden next semester (study abroad), but didn't get in because apparently Sweden is a high-demand place to go. Probably a good thing I didn't get in because I was going more for music than academics...but I'm pretty bummed...I had it all planned out how I was gonna go to the Swedish Rock Fest after the semester ended and track down all my favorite bands...but now I'm going to poland, and it won't be the same.

We need to talk more about them since them and Crashdiet are the leaders in new Glam Metal and they both are AMAZING!

leaders in new Glam Metal? The first HS cd came out in 2000.

saw them earlier in the year and they are hardly a patch on the Backyard Babies. each to their own.
