Backstage Pass? Crazy Story?
I've been thinking a lot about festival rosters lately. Honestly, this is because of my involvement with Rock Gone Wild - but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in Rocklahoma, Sweden Rock, Wacken Open Air and the like. Anyway, there is just no chance in hell any festival will please 100% of the people 100% of the time.
All of us has a dream festival lineup. More importantly, we each have a dream of who we would party with backstage.
The question is this: if you could party with any band, who? Why? Finally, how?
By "how" I mean, literally, explain how you will get backstage. Not everyone is granted an all-access pass in this noble fantasy. Plus, there are plenty of people that actually *try* hard to get from the general admission area to the backstage area.
Since we're not talking time travel here, don't pick things like "classic Guns n' Roses." The band you party with should be likely to happen.
My picks:
Band - Alice Cooper
Why - I want to sit on Keri Kelli's lap, goddamnit!
How - I'm Allyson of Bring Back Glam! Enough said.

this is quite odd actually but I had a dream where I went backstage with Airbourne and then they came back to my house afterwards, and then when I was walking them home whitesnake had moved into my house....
Does that count?
And mine would be with Motley Crue, because, well they're Motley Crue. WHo else could it possibly be with? How?
Erm... i'd leg it?
Why - They know how to have a good time haha
How - Tell them that im in some new pop. band like Buckcherry or Hinder.
After the show, we were herded backstage with everyone else and led into the catering room. Before we entered, Joe greeted us at the door and handed us each a beer. Did he bother to ask us if we were old enough to drink? No. Did he care? Probably not. My BFF and I walked into a room full of dudes, and we were the only two with beers. Vinne & Rex made their way in and chatted with people. Eventually the cops raided the sausage fest, and we were quickly swooped up by roadies and whisked away to the safety of Phil Anselmo's tour bus. Basically, it was a "Fuck the dudes. Save the girls!" situation.
Once we were on Phil's bus, we were both scared shitless. Phil was drinking beer and barking orders at people. He noticed that we were cold, so had made someone go to his bunk and get us a blanket. Numerous people walked on the bus and dropped of bags of weed, and Phil was kind enough to share. He couldn't continue one thought; he was constantly changing the subject. He asked us how old we were and we lied and said 18. Finally older, more developed and more mature girls arrived so it was time for us to leave. As we were leaving, Phil shook my hand SO hard, I thought he was going to break it.
And that's my story. :) I've been backstage to a few shows lately, including Cruefest over the summer, and I have to say that backstage shennanigans are not what they used to be. Honestly...nothing goes on. No groupies. No debauchery. Nothing. Just some drinking and hanging out. Not that drinking and hanging out isn't fun, but the backstage antics certainly aren't what they used to be back in the day. Or maybe I'm just catching these bands on their off days. ;) I'm just thankful that I don't have to dress like a whore anymore to get backstage because god knows in my old age, I certainly can't pull it off! ;)

why-I'm on a Crashdiet kick this week. I suddenly can't get enough.
How-I'm studying abroad in Europe next year. I have every intention of taking a trip or two to Sweden while I'm there. I envision myself standing in line at a convenience store in Stockholm, when who else but Martin Sweet comes and stands in line behind me. I mean, what else could I possibly do in that sort of situation but strike up a conversation?! Of course, we'll hit it off right away and end up walking out of the store and into a coffee shop where he will buy me a nice hot cuppa and we'll chat for a while, after which he will kindly invite me to his next show (Hell N Diesel, Red Star Rebels and Crazy Lixx will be opening. Yes, all of them, and possibly more. It'll be quite a night). I'll show up early and get my spot right in front, and they'll dedicate the song "Its a Miracle" to me, because when I was chatting with Martin in the coffee shop, I might have mentioned that was my favorite. Then, when the show is over, he'll invite me back stage and introduce me to the rest of the guys as his girlfriend.
And we'll all live happily ever after.
the end!
How is that for a story.
*Note to Christine: I just checked out your blog. You could totally pull it off (in your "old age"). Smokin'!

I HAVE to ask- how did you go about getting backstage passes to Cruefest last summer? I'm interested since I have tickets to Cruefest 2 this summer!
Thanks!
