SIXX: AM Tour Routing

sixxam.jpgToday is the day when we learn the special tour routing for SIXX: AM.

Not so long ago, the band featuring Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and James Michael decided they would hold a contest of sorts to pick the winning tour stops. SIXX: AM asked fans to vote for their city. As of this writing, I have no idea the routing or how many stops to expect. I also don't know what time today the tour stops will be announced, although I assume that information will come to me via press release. As soon as I know the information, I'll post the update here.

I'm going to guess the band will play no more than nine shows, each in a very intimate setting. I am sure at least two of the stops will be California, another in New York City, one somewhere in Texas and at least one Midwestern gig. Do I think the Midwestern gig will be in Ohio? Absolutely not.

No matter. I'll be attending one of the shows regardless of the location. That's why we have airplanes, credit cards and hotels. I actually quite like planning vacations around concerts. It gives me something to look forward to, and seeing a favorite band in an unfamiliar city seems somewhat exotic.

Many fans have created their own videos set to SIXX: AM songs. Here's a clip set to "Tomorrow."

I would say how I feel about Mr. Sixx, but I'm a married woman and it wouldn't be very fair to my husband.

Sixx is a god in my opinion - maybe the 58 project wasnt the greatest but the rest of his stuff is awesome. Unfortunately living in Scotland its highy unlickely that Sixx am will come over here. I would love to see them play here but if bands do come to the UK they tend to play shows in England - sure some come up but i dont think they scene here is very large unfortunately.
As long as you post a review of the gig once you go so i can pretend i was there.

I do hope they make it over to the UK, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that. I would love to see SIXX:AM but a trip to the States to do so is too far out of my budget range.

I've always been a big Motley Crue fan and especially Nikki. A few months ago Nikki became even bigger in my eyes. Allow me to share a story... Nikki was doing a book signing at a B&N near me on a Saturday afternoon, so my wife and I went and stood in line. We bought 2 books... my wife had one autographed to her and me and I had one autographed to my neice. I told Nikki that my neice was 22 and clean 6 months, but had been a heroin addict since she was 14. Nikki said, "Man, that shit's rough." After he signed the book, I told him I'd see him on Monday. Ya see, I'm a video editor for "The Morning Show" on Fox and Nikki was going to be on the show that Monday. Anyway, Monday morning came and I got to edit the piece about Nikki for the segment. After the taping I went to the green room and Nikki was like, "Hey, you were at the book signing Saturday." We spoke for a few minutes and he wished my neice well in her sobriety. I appreciated him taking that time.

The CD is really good and I hope NYC is one of their stops on the tour!

Thanks for listening.

I hope Sixx:A.M. comes over to the East coast. I'd love to see them. I've seen Nikki once with Motley Crue October 06, and that was my first time (and only as of right now) seeing Motley. I didn't even start loving Nikki as much until about a year ago.

Either way, I'm definitly hoping to see an East Coast date.

And I heard there was going to be 10-12 dates? A bit more hopeful than 9. :)

I hope they come to Canada, but I doubt it.

Sixx A.M. needs to come to Arkansas and have a concert. I would love it and so would the other fans of Motley Crue and the new fans of Sixx A.M. Nikki has gave me alot of hope after I read his book and listen to the soundtrack. I went through alot of stuff as well and he has given me power to take control of my life. And today I am in my own band writng lyrics, singing, and playing bass guitar. If Nikki reads this...Man you are my idol and please come to Arkansas.

It's amazing to meet him in person....
I would love it if they stopped somewhere close to me on their tour... Cincinnati, OH... Indianapolis, IN... I drove to Chicago to get the book signed... I'd drive there again if I had to and watch them play... It really takes a special person to write about such a personal, life-changing experience the way Nikki did....

Nikki Sixx amazes me. I am basically a divorced soccer mom who remembers loving Motley Crue (and I still do) as a teenager w/mall hair. =) I recently bought Nikki's book and developed a brand new fascination and appreciation for the man I never really knew before. As an adult, I totally identify w/his struggles. Although I never had the drug issues, I've had my own (as we all have) and his eloquence and articulate thoughts are so intense and revealing. He simply fascinates me. The album is phenomenal, as well. So powerful.

Does anybody know the answer to this: If I added my name to the Sixx AM mailing list, will I be notified of their tour dates/locations? I am prepared to haul my Soccer Mom SUV to the nearest venue and see this man in person.

Hi Courtney,

I would just wait for Motley's big announcement on April 15. I think we will learn about the future of SIXX AM on that day.
