Pick the Kix Tune

Kix is reuniting this summer for some sort of tour. To that end, I was watching some YouTube videos to gear up for the very special event.

I don't know if the east coast band will stop in Ohio, but I'm sure I'll see them at Rocklahoma. While "Don't Close Your Eyes" is a highly underrated power ballad, I firmly believe the band's fast songs are far superior.

Someone help me here. Let's pick the best Kix song and video.

Here's an odd one for you: "Body Talk."

Here's "Cold Blood."

Now, here's "Blow My Fuse." This is my pick for favorite song and video. This tune just plain makes me want to either dance or pump my fist in the air. I won't lie: I also think every member of the band looks damn hot in this clip!

So, which of these tunes is better? If you don't like these picks tell me which song you prefer and why.

*On a semi-related note, I think I should interview Kix. This band is so underrated, yet so full of talent. It's a shame they didn't get hugely famous. Ah, the injustice.

Wow - I didn't know there was a 'body talk' clip. Cold blood is my favourite Kix song and comes close to my all time favourite song to play on guitar, it's just a whole lot of fun. I can't wait to see these guys at Rocklahoma ( here's hoping )

Allyson you were right, I absolutely love this topic and you for posting it!!:>
Anyway I think Blow My Fuse is one of my favorite Kix songs, but my allt time favorite KIX song is Girl Money off the Hotwire album. I think you should be able to find it somewhere on youtube. Other favorites include The Itch, Midnite Dynamite, Cold Blood, Sex and the live version of Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!
Lets all hope we get to see them at Rocklahoma!! It looks promising!!:>

If you grew up in the mid-atlantic area in the 1980's then you kind of had to like these guys. The local radio stations here played them about as often as they played Ratt or Dokken in the mid 80's. The normally get together each year to play a handful of dates in the fall in Maryland or Pennsylvania. Steve Whiteman's Funny Money plays regularly in the area and they have played some tiny places including a pizza place about ten minutes from where I live. I like Kix's debut album the best, it was less typical than their later stuff and they still a healthy dose of humor.

I remember picking up Cool Kids and was blown away by Steve's unique voice and the element of a different rock sound which Kix brought to the scene. Love Pollution is a great track off that record. Then Midnite Dynamite came and tracks like the title, Balls of Fire, Laying Rubber, Cold Shower; they were all rocking. I was in heaven but the band wasn't hitting big. Then Blow My Fuse entered the scene and cmon, Red Light Green Light TNT gets the blood pumping right? Boomerang, Get it While it's hold, Cold Blood and the title tracks proved this band had it all....but again the world just didn't see it. Then Hot Wire came out which was a great album but the exact recipe of Blow My Fuse. Girl Money is a great track along with the ballad "Tear Down the Walls" but at this time the whole "woah is me era" came into play and basically snuffed out bands like Kix. Though they still put out a live disc and another disc called "Show Business"....anyway, one of my favorite bands of all time. Love these guys and Allyson - great topic!! thanks!!

Here is a question for everyone on here - How many of you have actually seen KIX live? How many will be seeing (hopefully) KIX live at Rocklahoma for the the first time?
Me I have probably seen them 20 or more times since

KixRules - I saw Kix at Rocky Point Amusement park back in the late 80's. Awesome live show!! Yeah Yeah Yeah was the hit of the show!!!
I must admit that they probably are one of the most underrated bands of that era.

Nope, I've never seen Kix. That's why I really hope they hit Rocklahoma.

Crazynights, yes Steve's "rap" during "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" is classic.
Allyson, we have to meet up after the KIX set (if they are in fact at Rocklahoma) so you can tell me what you thought. Hopefully if you have a press pass again you get to interview them. They are all really nice guys.
