Angel Down

Sebastian.Bach.jpg

Add Sebastian Bach to the list. The former lead singer of Skid Row will perform the opening night of Rocklahoma 2008.

I saw this one coming a mile away. After all, Bach will tour this summer with both Poison and Dokken. Now, that tour hasn't been officially announced, but it is rumored all over the place, so we might as well take it all for gospel. Personally, I'm thinking Thursday is shaping up as the best night of Rocklahoma so far. If you don't remember, here's the Thursay line-up:

L.A. Guns (Tracii's version)
Enuff Z' Nuff
Jetboy
VAIN
House of Lords
Bret Michaels (headline)

At this point,  I'm not sure where Bach falls in this line-up, but my guess would be right before Bret Michaels, considering the summer tour deal. I say add Dokken and call it a day.

Do you own Angel Down? Bach released the disc in November. I received a copy for Christmas and I have to admit, the album is surprisingly heavy. The title track is probably the best of the entire disc. The only song I don't like is the cover of "Back in the Saddle." Most important, this album proves that both Sebastian Bach and special guest Axl Rose can still sing.

You can hear more samples here. Here's a live clip of Bach performing "By Your Side."  I would assume his appearance at Rocklahoma means he's getting in touch with his past. I also hope this means he no longer hates Glam association.

i want to see jetboy, vain and house of lords but i'm not coming to every day so i won't be there. what i think is funny is all the people who talked bach down after his (stupid) comments about not wanting to be associated with the 80s and hair metal, etc. i wonder how many will now say he is awesome and they have to go thursday and so on.

Don I agree with you 100%..I've read so many articles where sebastian said he wanted nothing to do with the 80's scene..That's why he didn't want any of his songs on the Hollywood Rocks box set..Even aftyer all his comments..I'd still love to see him back with Skid Row..They're just not the same anymore without him.

Joe I agree with your comments regarding Skid Row but I think we are wishing for something that will never happen as there's too much malice between Baz and the rest of the group just like there is with Axel and the rest of the Gunners...kinda makes you wonder why Baz and Axel are such good friends but I'll leave that debate for another thread.

If Dave and Eddie can tolerate each other for a few months, anything is possible. It will be another 5 years or so before it happens, but I won't be surprised when GNR and Skid Row both reunite.

Don, Seb in his general life sometimes comes across as a moron, that doesn't change how good his voice and his music are.

GnR will reunite, I doubt there's enough money to make Skid Row reunite.

While I liked (hence the use of past tense), I thought it was comepltely wrong of him when he talked dispairingly about our music, when he was/is a huge part of that genre.

Turns out he is two-faced- touring with Poison, opening for Rocklahoma, etc... He laughed at us last year while bragging about not living in the past and his opening for the wife-beating loser, Axl Rose, who could only draw venues to 1/4 capacity.

If I go (still undecided base do the line up), but if I do go, me thinks it would be a good time to don my Metal Sludge Tee!

Adding Baz to the Thursday lineup sealed the deal for me to arrive on Thursday. I love Angel Down and I'm ready to see Baz tear it up!

Great addition and hopefully get there on Thursday to check him out because he can BRING it. Now they need to add 3-4 more bands and call it a day and start promoting the full lineup which should be great when all said and done.

Angel Down was WAY harder than I expected, but that's definitely not a bad thing. It kicks ass! It's in the cd player in my truck at the moment... along with VofJ, Crashdiet (Thanks Allyson for the suggestion!), Gypsy Pistoleros, Endeverafter and Baton Rouge. Baz is still one of the best frontmen IMO and can sing his ass off. I saw him open for GnR at MSG and sing "My Michelle" with Axl at The Hammerstein before the main tour kicked off. If I make it to Rocklahoma, I'll definitely be there for Thu night.

christian, i agree about his voice and his music. he tends to say incredibly stupid things and does come off like a moron. i'm just talking about all the people who were so outraged at what he said and now have jumped on his bandwagon since he is playing.

fletch, if you go you have to wear your metal sludge t-shirt. i just hope he sees it.

Ever since Baz stabbed my friend Snake in the back and bad mouthed him and the Skids, Baz has not done anything creative. He really ruined his career by doing that.

haha Hey it's Jon Bon Jovi!

On a serious note...I heard that Sebastian was in rehab recently. Anyone know anything about that?

Jon Bon Jovi would be too busy on let-me-sell-out-and-go-country-for-a-quick-buck.com to visit this great site.
