Rocklahoma Bands Added

rocklahomalogo.jpgEddie Trunk just announced two more bands for Rocklahoma 2008: UFO and Living Colour.

These bands surprise me much. In fact, I am a little stunned. There is one TBA left: the coveted Sunday headliner spot. Stay tuned.

this clinches it, i will not be going to rocklahoma this year. they have stated that these last 3 bands will be the biggest bands of the era and what do we get? ufo and living colour? nothing against them but living colour had maybe 2 "hits" and then nothing and ufo? in the 80s? this is so sad. i will be voting with my feet by not attending. i can't even begin to say how disapointed i am.

I am with don on this one, other than Living Colour and UFO suck! We won't be going either. As I said to my wife, the first Rocklahoma was our Woodstock. It just is not the same this year. Is there anyone at BBG or Cinderella.net who is interested in my two (2) VIP tickets= Section B row 4- aisle seats.

UFO's last few albums have been good and I have heard positive things about them live in recent years. Living Colour were good enough back in the day, but I don't know what they have been up to in recent years.
Who was everyone expecting? The inclusion of Triumph, Zebra and Armored Saint already showed that this wasn't going to be just a hair band fest, but I guess that's what many people were hoping for.

well they said the last 3 bands were some of the biggest of the era, so that's what i was expecting. not this. neither of these bands were huge, well maybe for a minute. the people at rocklahoma have said from day 1 that this WAS a hair metal fest so yes, that's what i was expecting. i don't mind including some groups that are a little harder like preist and maiden but ufo? armored saint? living colour? it doesn't make any sense. if they had said from the beginning that it was something different then fine. but they're changing things already so it doesn't bode well for the future.

First, UFO doesn't suck. Thay are legends that have influenced some of the biggest heavyweights in Rock. Have they had the success in the U.S. like some of their peers? No. Were they big in the U.S. in the '80s? No. Are they a solid band that continues to put out great records and tour with ease? Yes.

What was everyone expecting? There are only so many '80s bands to go around. UFO will blow the doors off the likes of Vain, Jetboy, Tora Tora and Trixter!
I know everyone is expecting the Crue to be the last headliner but who else was going to play? Kick Axe? Slik Toxik? Are the Wild Boyz reuniting?

This just makes me sad. I would enjoy seeing these bands if they came to town, but to travel several states, pay hundreds of dollars, and stand in the blazing sun to watch this lineup.. it's just not worth it. Sigh.

I am stunned !!! These are TBA's ??? Wow ! I really wish I'd waited to book this trip... all based on last years line-up. Wow ! never again ~!!!

I'm very, very happy with the lineup so far. I realized today that I don't even really care who will be headlining Sunday. So many bands I always wanted to see and never had the chance to. Can't await July, I will definitely have a great time at ROK!

Although i will never have the opportunity to attend Rocklahoma, it felt good to know that hair metal was coming back in a big way, in the form of this festival. And although I am fans of the non hair bands included in the fest, it doesn't make sense to include them in this particular festival.

The biggest hair bands have to be Def Leppard and Bon Jovi, although these two bands might deny that fact, And other than Twisted sister, Motley crue and Poison, which other hair band could carry the hair metal flag?
