Crue Fest Set

saintsoflosangelescover.jpgLast night, Motley Crue kicked off Crue Fest in West Palm Beach, Florida. Here's the set (which I'm sure will be the same at each tour stop):

Kickstart My Heart
Wild Side
Shout at the Devil
Saints of Los Angeles
Live Wire
Mutherfucker of the Year
Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
Same Ol' Situation
Primal Scream
Looks that Kill
Girls, Girls, Girls
Dr. Feelgood
Home Sweet Home

This isn't an ideal set, but it's pretty standard and not surprising in the least. The set is also painfully short, but that's what you get with festival shows. I guess I'll never hear "Danger" live. Sigh.

WTF is that shite? They are on tour to promote a new album, and only play 2 songs from it? We've spent the last 5 years paying to see the other songs played, it's time for the new stuff (which I still think Allyson underrated).

Holy crap, only 13 songs. That sucks.

I would rather here 20 Crue songs than 6 or 7 Trapt or Papa Roach songs.
I think the Crue are definitely stuck in the same dilemma that bands like Poison, Def Lep, etc. are in. They have so many hits they have to play so there isn't any time for new songs or more obscure or deeper album cuts. Many of us have seen these bands so many times that we crave something a little different, but I guess they have to play for people that are first-timers too. Of course I still want to hear the main tunes, but it wouldn't hurt to mix it up from time to time.

I can't tell you how bummed I am after reading this. Are you freakin' kidding me??????

I mean, I love all these songs, but for God's sake, play something that old school fans will freak out at like "Knock 'Em Dead Kid" or "Too Fast For Love"

And as much as I love Home Sweet Home (I named my charity after the song), why would they end on a downer song?

Ugh. I'm SO disappointed!

I hit it right on the head...I predicted they would only play "SOLA" and "MF of the year" off the new album....Isn't it funny how these bands (Def Leppard and Bon Jovi) try to escape their pasts..but when you see them live they play all the older songs?...LONG LIVE POISON THE KINGS OF GLAM...At least their proud to call themself glam..Now lets support the new guys who are carrying the glam torch...Crash Diet, Vains Of Jenna, Genini Five, Crazy Lixx, Dirty Penny, Sister.......

Yeah too bad it's a shorter set. And playiing some rare cuts might've been a cool idea too. Still good to see the Crue touring again!

I'm thrilled! I can't wait. 16 more days to Crue fest for me, and I can call my friend during "Primal Scream" which is her favorite song. I'm so glad that they added "Home Sweet Home" and "Don't Go Away Mad (Just go Away)" my favorite Crue songs.

Nice to hear some more new ones, added too. My only complaint? They won't be playing all night.

I will be seeing them next Tuesday in Buffalo (Darien Lake) and I figured they would play all the hits , but this is kinda lame. 13 song s??? What is that an hour? I ahve a feeling Buckcherry might be the best show on this tour, no " Too Young To Fall In Love" ? are you joking?

Oh yeah I just noticed that...there is no "Too Young To Fall In Love"?! Wow, that's suprising...

Im definately not impressed. But oh well, its still gonna be a great time. But it could be worse folks, at least they arent playing like 5 covers like Poison usually does.

Yeah that is a disappointing list. I would like to hear "Face Down in the Dirt" and "Down at the Whisky" from the new album played live. Maybe there will be enough negative feedback that they will change it slightly. Maybe drop "Don't Go Away Mad" and/or "SOS" (although I love those songs).

The only disappointing factor for me is that the set list seems too short. Other than that, I'm fucking thrilled! Motley Crue is my all time favorite band, and I'm just excited that I get to see them on this tour! Sure, there are a few more songs I'd like to hear them play, but I just can't complain. I just hope they are not as disappointing as the last time I saw them with Aerosmith; they sucked so bad I almost cried. But I know a guy on the inside at Crue Fest who tells me that we are all going to be blown away by Crue's live show. I'm so excited to see them that I almost can't stand it! And I have to wait until August to see them!

They're not playing my favorite Crue song, "Too Fast For Love"... No "Toast of the Town"? No "Down at The Whisky", which i have come to love? Anyway, this is my first time seeing Crue, and I'm gonna have to drive 2 hours to Cincinnati to see it, so this better kick some major ass! :)

Just saw the boys in St. Louis over the weekend. In addition to the songs Allyson has listed, they also played Sick Love Song and Anarchy in the USA.

It was over the top awesome!

And, ending on Home Sweet Home was most definitely NOT a downer - it was perfect.
