Full of L.U.S.T.
Glam fans, I've got a new band for you: L.U.S.T., all the way from Sydney, Australia. Before we go any further, I should mention L.U.S.T. does not have a record deal. They self-released a debut album and shipped me a copy to spin.
The self-titled debut features these songs:
Little Devil
That's Rock n' Roll
Get 'em Out!
Easten Alive
Stay With Me
My favorite songs are "Little Devil" and "Stay With Me." L.U.S.T. have a good vibe and a strong sound. They still need some polish, but there's great potential for big Glam fun.
So who are L.U.S.T.? Mikey handles vocal duties, Ronnie plays guitar, Sindy plays drums and Pete plays bass. Before you ask, yes, Sindy is a guy! This is a young group of Glamsters, about as far from the Sunset Strip as humanly possible. Still, L.U.S.T. are carrying the torch for our favorite type of music. You can give them a listen at their official Myspace page.
Maybe Christian or Railene can help us out here - is there a big Glam scene down under? I hope so - Australia is tops (just behind Sweden) as one of the places I must visit. I want to go to native rock clubs and *hopefully* listen to Glam.

Hands down, by far...Van Halen! And for the record, David Lee Roth IS Van Halen
2) Cinderella
3) George Thorogood and The Delaware Destroyers
4) Bon Jovi
5) Van Hagar...maybe
First LP: Shaun Cassidy...Played "Da Doo Run Run" every day, all day...HEY, I was 7 years old!
First cassette: Quiet Riot, "Metal Health" How ironic! Hey, I was 13yo! Soon thereafter, Led Zeppelin 4, then LZ 2, then LZ 3, then LZ 1. Stopped LZ after that..
Started hearing about Philly bands: Cinderella, Teaze, Britny Fox, Heaven Sent, Poison (kinda Philly...used to be anyway), Gypsy Rose, Metalwolf, etc...and then I first saw a few of these bands at a Fire Station Benefit in Bucks County. Got hooked.
First CD's: Billy Joel Greatest Hits, Beach Boys Greatest Hits, Cinderella Night Songs. Bought them right after I got my first CD player.
To read about: The more obscure (ok, less well known) 1980's glam bands and what they're up to now and went through during the 80's, the 90's and curremtly. Bands that don't get much press, but were just as relevent: PBF, Kix, Britny, Tuff, Vain, Blackeyed Susan, and so many more. There are too many outlets to read about Rock Of Love 4 (not a typo).
Allyson: We're sorry that we didn't get to Rocklahoma this year...would've really liked to have met you. Our plate is full...my wife, Cathy, is pregnant/due in September and we're in the process of adopting a wonderful, little boy Nicholas.
More exciting news might, a big might, come next year!
not to many bands can make me feel that way. lol Love em!!!! I love australia even before Sweden! ha ha ha those are the two places i MUST go to before i die....at least....
I'm chatting to him over msn right now actually.
There are a few other bands floating around who are influenced by glam, the only other one I actually like is The Deadthings, a goth/glam band, who you HAVE to listen to.
I'm not sure about metal stores, and i only know of ONE metal bar, called Back In The Day, whcih basically plays 80's/90's songs.
There are probably 5 'glammers' in my state, but I live in Tasmania, I know of at least 7 in Melbourne, and the same in Sydney,
5 or so in Queensland.. and well nowhere else matters.
I gather some are hiding, since there HAS to be more of us than that
their ep is amazing, start to finish
and theyre putting out a full length album soon, I WANT IT.!!!
and it also helps that the boys are drop dead hot
they make me want to move to oz!
