Rocklahoma Predictions - 2009 Edition

Each year around this time I list my predictions for Rocklahoma. If you're not familiar, Rocklahoma is the largest Glam festival in America. It's held each July in Pryor, Oklahoma and produced by Catch the Fever. Tickets have been on sale for months - I haven't bought mine yet. This is the first year I've let my seat license lapse. I'm going to ROK 09 - I just decided I wanted to move to a different location and sit with more friends.

Here are my Rocklahoma 2009 predictions:

Whitesnake
Alice Cooper
Saxon
Mr. Big
Damn Yankees
Shark Island
LA Guns
Enuff Z' Nuff
Scrap Metal
Winger
Sammy Hagar
Lynam
Gypsy Pistoleros
Dirty Penny
Stephen Pearcy
Twisted Sister
Kix
Keel
Lynch Mob
Little Caesar
TUFF

There you go. These bands made the list thanks to some inside information, best guesses, common sense and tour routing.

I  have no idea when Rocklahoma will make their line-up announcement - I assume within the next three weeks, although last year we didn't know until early March. Time will tell.

(I'll highlight all my correct choices).

Damn Yankees?

Oh, I heart my washed-up bands from my youth :) Tuff...hehe.

Technical difficulty there Allyson--when Reb Beach is with Whitesnake, he can't be with Winger (& vice versa). Something to do with his contract with David Coverdale, I believe. Now, maybe they can do like they did several years ago and have Reb with the 'snake & Kip does the solo/acoustic thing--he's doing solo shows in February...one in Ohio again.

Now that would be a good lineup I think!
Lookin' forward to the "official" announcements on it...

Kix,Damn Yankees, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Sammy Hagar, Mr. Big, Twisted Sister, Lynch Mob, Pearcy, Winger, Tuff...that may be enough to get my out there...Wish it was Phil's version of LA Guns...I am so tired of seeing this version.

only if they have enough good bands on the same day will i even consider it. last year was spread thin with too much 70s AOR. and do you really think the fans would sit still for a kip winger solo acoustic show? there would be a mass exit while that went on.

I want to hear more about Damn Yankees. Is this really going to finally happen? Is there a new album on the horizon? "Don't Tread" is one of my favorite albums.

Tuff is the most underrated band of the genre. They would be a MUST see!

Is it really a prediction if you have inside info? lol. Having said that I would not attend this version unless there are signifigant bands added. So far Rock Gonw Wild gets my money, especually if the L.A. Guns is not the real one with Phil. For what it's worth , I bet Def Leppard and Poison make iot to one of the festivals, I would bet this one.

Would it be Sammy Hagar solo, or Chickenfoot? I heard that Chickenfoot may be releasing something soon. That's Sammy with Michael and Joe Satriani on lead guitar.

Alice Cooper would be wild.

As for Lynch Mob, as much as I love them, I would rather see Souls of We. I like London LeGrand a lot!!!

So, where exaclty are you and your gang going to be sitting? I'd love to have a seat near ya'll, seeing as last year I had to sit with my psycho, now ex, boyfriend. Love to see you there, but without the severe weather!

looks like I was right, Whitesnake is touring this summer (according to David Coverdale's camp), and nothing from the Winger side. I'm fairly assuming that Kip will do the solo thing this year since Reb will be with the 'snake.

kik tracee.....kik tracee.....kik tracee........stephen shaereux would steal the show kt was the best live performance band of the early 90's..... rocket club tampa had started having house sound and they did not want to play through the house p.a. well to be quite honest with ya they had some sound problems the first 2 songs and i could see the owner of the club looking like he was about to unplug them, people were leaving the club, but then wow, holy shit,it all came together!!! they were so good it brought tears to my eyes.bartenders and waitresses were even standing on chairs to see this band that made a fucked situation into the best damn show that club had ever seen.on youtube there are many shows from the rocket club but i have never been able to find the kik tracee show.my ears were ringing till the next afternoon and no one has ever come close to the energy that these guys put on that night.i'll tell ya the clincher for me was the train horns on each symbal stands they had one on each side of the drums, maybe they were truck horns but it was loud,loud,loud...i would spend the last dime i had if i could see that line up one more time. hell i would hire them to play for me if i heard they were back together.i love u kik tracee and will never forget that show, and the red velvet jump suit stephen wore, and when i die at my funeral the only music that will be playing is kik tracee...........
