Hot and Ready
Who here remembers Reckless?
Raise your hand.
I'm waiting.
Ok, well, Reckless is (yes, is - the band still exists!) a Canadian rock outfit that is basically all Glam. I think Reckless originally tried to be a cross of Helix and Def Leppard, but I'm not sure they achieved that goal. Now, this isn't your most "known" of all Glam bands, but guitarist Steve Madden apparently has quite the Glam rep for women, big hair and the other bits that go along with being a rock star.
Anyway, I don't know near enough about the band's history to write it all down but they do have a funny website, so it’s all good. Go read about their history, pins, paternity tests…and road crew.
Seriously.
When you’re done reliving the joy of Canadian Glam, watch this clip for the band’s most famous song “Hot and Ready.” Doesn't suck but I think the vocals are a little thin.

Andrew I just bought an FM radio station - wanna move out here and DJ for me bro? It's all 80s Rock and good newer stuff.
I honestly respect what you are doing too... You are doing such a great thing for all these bands... giving them opportunities that they haven't had before, and giving us fans a chance to hear from for perhaps the first time. You have a passion for what you do, and it shows. Just keep doing what you're doing with the label and everything...
Also, you seriously bought an FM radio station??
Wow, that's awesome man! All the best to ya with that...and if you're serious about me being a DJ for it someday, I'd definately be interested!
Which was it?
See - comments like this make you look like an ass, regardless of what you may or may not know about the industry. If this is true, then your side stage line up sucks, considering how many bands are in there that I like.
"I won't support the mediocrity you seem to be attracted to"
Well, you can like whatever you like. Seems like I just have wider tastes than you, from the stuff you champion through to stuff that you find 'mediocre'. Whatever, there's no point arguing about taste. Well, you don't agree, but I think that is true.
"Only problem with Airbourne is that their song structures tend to be too 'samey' for me but I love their album."
Yeah, I am interested to see how their next album goes. Remember, the first AC/DC album was pretty bad. Same is true of the Angels.
"Why promote bands that Clear Channel have already sunk their claws into?"
Um... if they are good, they are good. The end.
Axeman:
"I just wanna say I'm with Sam 100% on this. "
um.... it's SAM who starts the attacks on people, both here and on the ROK forums. If he likes something different, I don't care. But if he has to express it by insulting people, then I get upset.
"I just think everyone should try and respect each others opinions more and also, the personal "attacks" need to stop."
I agree. A lot of people post on here with opinions I disagree with. Allyson and I sure as hell do not agree on all the bands that we each like. The difference is respect. Sam does not show it, and if he did, then I would care less if he doesn't like some bands that I do.
Sorry dude - I don't buy into it. And like I've said before , anyone who DOES accept mediocrity and the manipulating IS A SELL-OUT.
If the cap fits....
End of story.
"And like I've said before , anyone who DOES accept mediocrity and the manipulating IS A SELL-OUT. "
I rest my case. I don't accept mediocrity. I just like what I like. I've never insulted what you like, I've just defended my right to enjoy the music that sounds good to me.
It's true, Sam, you do attack people here - and I've seen it on the ROK forums as well - if they don't like what you like or don't agree with you. You do from time to time show insight and knowledge about the industry but, like Christian pointed out, you tend to act like an ass and that just negates anything positive you may be able to bring to the table.
And that's not being "personal".
By the way, thanks so much for the last posts you directed towards me. Just confirms my opinions.
Got something to say to me?
I'll admit,I don't like some of the new bands she writes about on here either, but at least she DOES write about NEW bands and doesn't consider glam just one big exercise in nostalgia and that's what is gonna bring back glam and keep it vital!!! - Retrospect wrote - "It's Ally's website and she can 'report' on whatever she feels like , I understand that. Just don't get all defensive when me and other peeps criticize. Otherwise , don't allow the public to make comments on those blogs". - Good points, the fact that people are on here disagreeing with Ally shows how stimulating her blog is and how many people's attention she's getting on here!!
