Definitely Maybe

A couple of you have asked me to mention the demise of Oasis. As you may (or may not know, or care) guitarist Noel Gallagher left Oasis a few days ago. Noel, along with his brother Liam, were the backbone of Oasis. On Friday night, Noel announced his plans to leave the band, saying he was "forced to leave" the band and that was he was verbally and violently intimidated.

Now here's my problem with Oasis and the main reason why I never mentioned this split to begin with. 1) Oasis isn't a Glam band. 2) Oasis are awesome, but they are not the biggest band of the past 20 years. 3) Oasis could have been the biggest band since the Beatles, but the constant feuds between the Gallagher brothers got in the way of the music.

I think "Wonderwall" is a brilliant song. I remember watching the video with my mom when Oasis was new on the scene. She was really excited - I guess because she saw a lot of the Beatles in Oasis and was looking to relive that genius. It's sad when any band breaks up or changes members. Is this the end of the world? No. Will Oasis go forward? Perhaps. Will Noel have a successful solo career? Probably.

So, are you sad about Noel's departure from Oasis or do you even care?

"Greatest band since the Beatles"???

Give. Me. A. Fucking. Break.

That's pretty exclusive, wouldn't you say? Oasis had their strong points but come on, all you Oasis-lovers, they're repeatative at the very least... The Beatles - which anyone who loves them always compares them to - were at least innovative. Oasis just recycles the same crap over and over. I agree, they did have some good songs... but if they're so Beatlesque, where is their "Sgt. Pepper"? Where is their "Rubber Soul"? Where is their "Magical Mystery Tour," "Let it Be," or even their "Revolver"? Seriously.

Liam Gallagher is a talentless little fuck; Noel had all the talent in that band and he's gone again... Boo hoo... They lost any cred they had years ago. They weren't ever "rock stars" they just did lots of drugs and acted like assholes and thought that was what being a rock star was all about...

Next.

And just to clarify, I mean no disrespect towards anyone... just my opinion.

Samuel, I'm not an EnglishMAN, I'm an English woman, and as I say, not one person I know has made mention of Oasis' latest toys out of the pram episode. And I spend a lot of time with a lot of people in the music business.

Sucks, I like Oasis, I got to see them on september 5th of last year though, so at least I got my chance. They put on a Floyd-like lightshow in their concerts, and their songs sound really good live, but they don't move. The bass player (whatever his name is) didn't move, like at all lol.
