Somebody on the M3 Facebook page thread said its Phil's version...THANK GOD!...Wish they would have announced 2 bands we already didn't know about!

Phil Schmil. Look, I know he's the "voice" of L.A. Guns, but where the heck is ace Gunslinger, Tracii Guns? I've seen 'em five times, all back in the day, and he's the one that makes it. It's his name. His band.

Tracii's got the legendary guitar pyrotechnics (sometimes quite literally, if you look at how he holds his still lit cigarette butt as he's playin' a lead). He frickin' kills it!

And Phil? Phil is just okay as he misses notes left and right and not in a good way like Michael Monroe, etc.

As I posted on Al's previous post, "Rant of the Day", last night, I saw on scorpsnews.com that Scorpions will be the Headliner. Perhaps 98 Rock (I've been a listener since age 13, hahaha!!!) will announce that soon, but, as usual with bringbackglam.com, you heard it here first (more or less).

Also, as I mentioned last night, Danger Danger (Alright Kenny O), Nelson (Alright, Al!), Dizzy Reed, Jetboy, ZO2, Warrant and Vince Neil (H*ll, yeah!) are in.

M3 Promoters are also in talks with Tesla, Jackyl, Dirty Looks (Alright, Me!), Sebastian Bach, Winger (Not so alright, hahaha!!!) and Britny Fox (Alright, me, again!)...

Get ready to Rokk!!!

@metalboy

Hey there! The promoter told me himself Danger Danger isn't playing M3 this year.

There's a link about it here:

Hahaha!!! Al, ya got me as usual.

Pleeze, forgive me, Oh, Glamistress. Please do not thrash me with that whip made of Ernie Ball guitar strings (just kiddin'!)...

I'm such a maroon...

I even entered a comment on the very post you put up where you mention Danger Danger not making the bill right from the horse's mouth of the promoter. The same exact one you've got the link here for!

So, like I said, as usual, ya got me again!, dang it!

And this is why it's your site and Metalboy! only serves to uphold and protect it!

It is a shame, tho, there ain't gonna be no Danger Danger. Saw 'em at the Cat Club and partied with Foley at that BBQ in Queens, as I've mentioned previously, but I would really like to see 'em now, especially since Kenny Ozz really got me into 'em more. I think you mentioned on your list of shows that you've seen 'em.

But how about the Scorps? Got any inside scoop on them? Now that's a Headliner!

metalboy: I sincerely and genuinely hope that you attend M3. I have some deception dectection interviewing, spotlight interrogating, and spanish inquisiting...um, I mean questions to ask.

Metalboy,

Rumor has it that actually Ally uses D'Addario's on her whip....8>) Also, Is Vince still using most of Slaughter as his back-up band on tour??

Fletch! I will be there! And I really do hope to throw us all a little Metal Ho Down But why wait 'til then to interrogate. Are you The Dream Police, or something? If so, it's okay, Ociffer Crunchkey. Metalboy! can take the heat. Fire away! Even if I am hurt by your skepticism... Honestly (and I mean that!), why are you so suspectful, son? Bring it! But B.Y.O.B., too!

Gary! Hahaha!!! Ernie Balls or D'Addario's? Only Al knowz for sure.

As far as Neil goes, I'm revealing my ignorance. I never saw him solo, but my ex-lead guitarist did (Hammerjack's with Steve Stevens on guitar off that killer first solo record). I'm just kickin' myself I didn't go then. Watch the YouTube stuff off that tour. Killer!

Since you're more up on Vince's history and Slaughter's band serving as his back-up, can you tell me if Dana Strum has been involved?

Of course, I recall someone on here saying that Vince has been mailing it in lately, singing only 60% of the vocals when he performs, instead relying on shout-outs and chick back-up vocalists, etc...

Metalboy! Ally boils her strings too so it could be quite painful.
I think I may actually get to the festival this year..IF Jani or Mark play the show. With Warrant on the bill, not sure they're gonna pay Jani to play the one day festival.
I am surprised that you're good with the Tracii version as opposed to the Phil/Nickels version. I too am in Tracii's corner for performance, but I'm sure I would feel the same if I were to see the Phil version. It's a win-win for me because I appreciate BOTH for what they are.
I AM surprised that you're ok with Britny Fox without Dean on a few levels. Dean freaking KILLED as the singer, but also on guitar. I'm a huge BF fan with Dean, but have enjoyed the Tommy version-very high energy AND the Jamie version-fun and better vocals than the Tommy version in a live setting.
To answer what I know of the "Neil/Slaugher" thing...Dana does SOME dates with Slaughter when he is NOT with the VNB. That being said though, he didn't perform with them a few times when they were on the same bill. SO its anybody's guess there. hope that puts more confusion on it for ya hahaha.
Best.
Lou.
PS
Wonder if I could talk Dean into just checking the show out with me? I know he's been busy working on some newer stuff going back in the rock direction AND keeping some of the singer/songwriter stuff too. The cat looks amazing right now too, talk about a physical transformation. Weights and tatts do the body good kidz. LOL

Wow, Lou! You are up on it! I had no idea Britny was rolling without Dean. I don't know if I'm okay with it. I saw Britny with Warrant opening at Limelight back in the day and hung out and bought beers for Joey Allen after the show. I dated his cousin and Joey just hopped down off the stage at the conclusion of their encore and came runnin' up to her and gave her the biggest hug and then just rolled back with us to the bar.

It was hilarious tho, because his cousin was so hot, I couldn't focus on our conversation as I was entranced by her. However, there is one thing he said that got my attention.

It's an interesting antidote I've mentioned here in previous comments...

During our conversation we got on the subject of Kix since we were talking about where I grew up, Maryland. Kix is from Hagerstown and so that's where the conversation went...

And here's what he said, and I quote...

"I wish we had a singer like Steve Whiteman. Someone with some b*lls!"

... he just volunteered it up. Just like that. This was 1990. Anyway, I've thought about him sayin' that over the years and used to agree with him.

But really, Jani Lane will forever be THE lead singer of Warrant, not only cuz his voice was pretty dang good (OK, not as ballsy as Whiteman), especially for some of the Lite Netal Warrant's known for.

And as Al has pointed out here, Jani Lane is a helluva songwriter, and in his case, perfect for his own material. That first album one of the best examples of Cheeze Metal out there, which is, as everyone knows, my fave subgenre of Glam Metal. And how about this? And this is really going to p*ss some people off, mainly chix...

You could also categorize this type of Metal as Chick Metal. Y'know, like Chick Flick, etc. And I know I don't need to explain why. Still, none of this stops me from lovin' this band. But I think I'll stick with lovin' 'em forever frozen in my memory the way they were in '90 and not the Rock Reunion act they now are.

Let's put it this way... If there are two stages at Merriweather goin' at the same time, as they did last year, which I think is a good idea cuz it keeps the thing moving, I'll be checkin' out the other stage... unless it's Phil's L.A. Guns, hahaha!!!, in which case, I'll be checkin' out all the Glam Metal chix wondering aimlessly around the lawns.

Al! What about the Scorps?! Is that rumor true? I'm ready for that. Klaus, Rudy and Mathias. That's the way to keep a band going... The key playerz keeping the core sound authentic and in tact.

The rest just become tribute bands to themselves when they put a new singer in to just simply rehash the old set lists. New material written by the new singer? That's a different story and a good one at that. Unfortunately, it's one that's rarely told today.

And that means I can't figure out for the life of me, why you think Dean would want to go see Britny with a replacement singer when, like you said, his voice is such a signature piece to their sound.

Enough of bands with replacement singers, already. I say replace 'em in the line up with legit bands like Junkyard or Slaughter or some of the others where the original singers and guitarists are runnin' the show, like some of the bands I and other Bringbackglamsterz have suggested here.

Like I said, there are exceptions, like Brian Johnson, who contributes original material and singz his heart out as a genuine member of the band. But when a band just plugz in somebody with limited pedigree just to keep their Metal Medley Machine pumpin', they're losin' me...

metalboy: it's not suspectful, it's skeptical. I guess from my fortunate years of deception training which unfortunately makes me very skeptical of most. In many ways, it does a lot more harm because no matter how hard (or good) you fight, it doesn't change the world, but you remain very skeptical...and

...metalboy: I hope to meet you @ M3, because I'll (and I type this sincerely, honestly, genuinely, sarcastically, ...but most of all, bootlegged from blackie) nail you ass to the sheets. cheers, MB! let's hang @ m3 (that is, if you're 'the real thing')
