Remembering Steve Lee of Gotthard
Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 12:01AM
Steve Lee, singer of Gotthard, was killed in an accident Tuesday. Lee was riding in a group of motorcyclists and was stopped on the side of the road in Nevada when a tractor-trailer slammed into him. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
There's a sad statement on the front of Gotthard's official website, which I suggest you read for yourself.
Let's all listen to a little Gotthard today, in memory of Steve.

But it's like a press release. No personal word?
I'm still in complete shock, I can't believe it's true. Gotthard have been with me since I started listening to Hard Rock. I've seen them countless times. Last time last November and I can't believe we skipped the concert in August because we thought we could catch them next time again. :(
They had a very nice special on Swiss TV yesterday evening, with concert clips and old interviews. He was such a great and nice guy with one of the best voices in rock. I can't believe I will never see him at a concert again.
RIP Steve - we will miss you.
What a tragedy!
Listen to Steve Lee's singing on "Firedance" and "All I Care For" or their fantastic cover of Deep Purple's "Hush" off their self-titled first album from back in the day.
You'll shake your head wondering why they didn't make it in the States.
p.s. Xandra! It's been so long since I saw you commenting here. What a shame about Steve Lee. Remember when we were comparing notes on "The Greatest Singers Ever" and he was on both of our lists, one of the few we actually agreed on. That tells us all how great he really was.
This = tragedy
Gotthard should have been HUGE!!
What a loss!
I am planning a trip to Europe and one of my intentions is to see as many European Glam Metal acts as I can.
Specifically, the ones that never make it over here.
And Gotthard were on my list!
My heart goes out to Steve Lee's family.
Peace Forever...
Apparently part of the reason they never made it in the states is that Steve was banned from the country for ten years after overstaying his visa by three days.
Part of the reason for the road trip they were on was to celebrate being allowed back in.
