About Time: Alice Cooper Band to Rock Hall

Alice Cooper performing at Rock the BayouCould this have taken any longer? Alice Cooper has just confirmed that he and his original band will finally be inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held in March. According to the Arizona Republic, Alice was informed of the honor last week.

The inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 will be officially announced  today at 10:30 a.m. EST on the official website of the Rockhall. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Fuse. Now I can't wait to see who gets to induct Alice Cooper.

Cooper will reunite with his original band for the 10th edition of his Christmas Pudding charity concert this Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona.

Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love will also be inducted. This means Bon Jovi didn't get in...which surprises me to be honest. I figured out of all the Glam bands on earth, Bon Jovi were a lock to make it on the first shot.

Let's remember, it took Aero 3 years to get, as also Queen. It also took Michael Jackson 3 years as well. How long did it take them to finally induct Sabbath? FOREVER!!!! AND if you look back, it appears Zeppelin didn't get on the first year either (Debut 1969, inducted 1995 - I guess the Rock Hall thought THE BAND was more important to induct in 1994). Is it coincidental that Page/Plant was happening in 1995, the same year as their induction? Anyway....maybe I put too much thought into this stuff.....

BON JOVI deserve to be in but not before many other ROCK legends that aren't (Kiss, Priest, Rush and many more). I also think the suits voting on inductees are oblivious to the global impact JOVI has had over the years....Again, maybe I put too much thought and energy into this.

I wish the people who inducted the bands would put too much thought into this. Alice Cooper is awesome saw'em last year in columbus and he was great! I am surprised Jovi didn't get in since they basically aren't the most rock band among the nominees. It worked for madonna. Still Priest, Rush and Kiss should be in way before Jovi. I actually just thought this up in 30 seconds. HA!

About fucking time. The guy is responsible for entire genre of music (theatrical/shock rock). Been bitching about his omission for years now! Kudos to Mr. Furnier on his induction....

I think the only two bands that have ever ha been labeled a hair band that should get in eventually are Bon Jovi and Def Leppard they're the only two who didn't disappear during the grunge days are still around today still touring and making music and have only had a few lineup changes. They've stood the test of time. Plus Jovi can still sell out 90,000 seat stadiums around the world
